The thing about white nationalism is the floating character of the xenophobia. All that is non-white, all that is non-Christian can be the face of the enemy, to fit the needs of the political moment. The RW influencers really bullhorning the Islamophobia these days.

Current problems mostly related to staff shortages. Some balloons aren’t getting launched. Some forecast offices can’t operate 24 hrs/day. But, the real nightmare isn’t inaccurate weather forecasts. It’s going to be: “impossible nowcasts”. What’s a “nowcast”( glad you asked, read next thread…🧵

On this day 163 years ago Robert Smalls and those enslaved aboard the steamer Planter emancipated themselves under seemingly impossible odds. On May 13, 1862 they lived their first day free from bondage. Their story continues to inspire countless people to this day.
