A weevil at Wildsumaco in Ecuador. Easily found by following the trail of glitter he leaves behind everywhere he goes. But really- this glitter weevil is always amazing to see and a real wonder of the world. Endless forms most beautiful, indeed.

So moths are drab, huh? Green Leuconycta moth would beg to differ. This was another one at our blacklight in our back yard Saturday night. It nestled close to the bulb, hence the blue cast to the sheet it is on. Leavenworth, Kansas, USA, May 24, 2025.

Believe it or not, all three of these fish are the same species… the bluehead wrasse. Wrasses are protogynous hermaphrodites, meaning they transition from female to male over the course of their lives. Each phase can look radically different from each other as evidenced here #coralcitycamera
