This is all you need to know about the current situation with Iran.

Interesting to see the man who campaigned against becoming involved in “endless foreign wars” becoming involved in an ……

As King Donald prepares to bomb Iran, could someone remind him that bombing Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya didn’t exactly work out well Regime change in those countries has been a disaster And there are now slave markets in Libya

I'm delighted the government has accepted my amendment to make hate crimes against LGBT+ and disabled people aggravated offences, and will now table an amendment in the House of Lords to make it happen. Here's a bit of my speech on why this change is so important:

The idea that we can "easily" overthrow the regime in Iran is a fantasy of people that have never served. Afghanistan is back in the hands of the Taliban after 20 years of slaughter. Iraq still isn't peaceful. Libya is a war zone that's been in civil war since we dropped bombs. History is screaming!

King Donald says he might bomb Iran, or he might not….Irans got a lot of trouble - playing god with people’s lives.

So King Donald says that Iran should surrender unconditionally, and that the location of their Supreme Leader is known, but they will not kill him. Now Let’s just reverse that? Iran says Israel should surrender unconditionally, and they know where Kind Donald is located etc Doesn’t work for me!!

Political assassinations. This is what happens when you create a civic culture based on rage, entitlement, paranoia, and grievance. When you demonize political opponents as traitors. When you glorify white, male, militant rage. When you sanctify violent insurrectionists. Elite cues matter.

Is it significant that a politician who worked” across the isle” is assassinated in Trumps divided America?

So consistent!! www.facebook.com/share/r/1JA8...

Why am I not shocked? amp.sacbee.com/news/politic...

Cant wait to see what Musk’s new centrist party looks like - Nazi salutes, abandoned environmental and workplace regulations, massive tax cuts for the rich, funded by mass sackings of federal workers - and special immigration status for Aafricaners (the Nelson Mandela programme?) centrist?

So let me get this right - Trump the Magnificent announces a ban on entry for citizens of 12 countries - to deter terrorism from occurring in USA. The ban does not include Egypt Remind me of the nationality of the latest person detained in US for alleged terrorist offences - Mohamed Suliman?

In UK Reform say they want DOGE style exercises in the Councils they now control. Given the rip roaring success of DOGE in US - I’m sure hard working and loyal government servants can’t wait! Neither can rogue traders, care home owners, highway contractors etc etc

When considering the effect of Musk’s glowing endorsement of Trump and Trumpism, folk might care to look up the phrase “ Doing a Ratner” Enjoy

In UK, Reforms Trumpism continues. Nigel Farage claimed This was followed by Reform UK MP Sarah Pochin telling Fox News copycat GB News that “we will save £35 billion.” The actual amount spent by the civil service on those schemes in 2022/23 was just £27.1 million (Cabinet Office)

In our small UK town, Reform swept the board in local elections. Their first political act - to support residents of a suburban street who oppose a semi-detached house in the street being converted into a children’s home. Not in my back yard! That’s populism! Pity the children

“If you’re among the vast sea of Americans who remain enthusiastically grateful for vaccines, the time for pushing back against Kennedy isn’t later, when he’ll likely be ratcheting up his program to “reevaluate” longstanding pediatric vaccines. It is now.” www.thebulwark.com/p/rfk-jrs-wa...

As someone who spent a lifetime defending working people, I’m glad I don’t have to step up for this Chief Executive - wow!!!! www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

I’m just an old union man, read a few books, coloured some in! It’s usually helpful to examine a problem from the perspective of those sitting across the table from you. But If making IPhones in China is a bad thing What is the position regarding making Teslas in China Just asking!

Trump v Ramaphosa : This is how a British radio station examined the issues, following an article in the right wing Daily Telegraph I have met seen a similar rebuttal elsewhere www.facebook.com/share/r/1Cvx...

Let me get this right! Apple builds a smartphone in India - triggers a 25% or 50% tariff Samsung build a smartphone in South Korea - triggers a 10% tariff Where is the competitive advantage? How does crippling an American success - Apple - make America great again?

When King Donald 1st spouts that the EU was formed to rip off USA, he forgets that it was formed as a device to maintain peace on our continent, safer 2 world wars. Coal and steel was a start, then agriculture leading to s single market/ single currency. Only his ignorance drives his conclusion.

Trumps 60% tariff on EU trade helps no one. And the threats to Apple. “Looks at me - I’m such a hard man” until it comes to China …. we will see Of course, Putin would want NATO to fall apart Totally unconnected????

Trump v Ramsphosa - when Cyril referred to Nelson Mandela, he could have said the Afrikaner ment as mitt put him in jail for all those years - you need to think again Mr President

On Ellis Island: Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door! Trump could make an offer to Palestinians Won’t happen!!

In my dreamy state, just before I properly woke up, I did wonder if Trump would be amenable to the type of honour bestowed upon Simon Bolivar and Cecil Rhodes. After all, Amerigo Vespucci was a first generation immigrant - illegal at that! Trumpland has a certain ring to it

The last UK government claimed to have “the fastest growing economy in the G7” saying it was a good thing. Labour government reports having “The fastest growing economy in the G7 “ the Tories say it’s not good enough. They say performance is inhibited by a jobs tax - abolished by them - never!!

Trump says, in accepting a second hand place to serve as Airforce One : “We’re the United States of America. I believe we should have the most impressive plane.” Second hand plane? Curious image

Watching Trump in Saudi - it’s a soap opera. Mel Brooks said he was a “ song and dance man” Have the Democrats worked out yet how and why they lost? Time flies

The UK - US trade deal - 10% tariffs - with 0% for steel and aluminium (!!!) is a bit thin, could be better, but is what it is - a symbol that deals can be done - but what is the value of a deal if one side can just rip it up ( as Canada and Mexico can justifiably ask of the man who made the deal)

So Trump wants to refurbish and reopen Alcatraz. Is this because he needs somewhere comfortable for his declining years?

In UK Labour was absolutely battered by Reform - composed of former Tories - Conservative Party not right wing enough, lead by a person of colour etc etc Campaign lifted themes from Musk and Trump Last communication with me was entirely about immigration - nationally controlled - not local councils
