Arthur continues, showcasing how long-read sequencing discovered a novel fusion in an ovarian cancer patient—one that short-read methods miscalled as simple overexpression of the 3' fusion partner. #AACR25 #PacBio 

Arthur Dondi, PhD, from ETH Zürich is now presenting at #AACR25! He shares how cancer cells express the IGF1 class II isoform, while normal cells express class I. The secreted class II promotes growth of neighboring cells—an important distinction revealed by long-read sequencing. #PacBio

Bingqing continues her presentation, highlighting how the percentage of novel isoforms increases as tissue progresses from normal, to benign polyp, to dysplastic polyp, and ultimately to cancer. #AACR25 #PacBio

Bingqing Zhao, PhD, from Stanford University takes the stage at #AACR25 to share how long-read sequencing uncovered a novel structural variant in the FBXW7 gene—a gene mutated in up to 18% of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. #PacBio
