A six-year battle to save Elland Road's 'little sister' is nearing victory. 'Wortley Wembley' is where Reaney, Madeley, Harvey, Batty, Smith, Deane and more all started. It was threatened by housing until a community group, then Bielsa himself, stepped up to save this parcel of #lufc history.

Archie Gray tonight was the youngest Englishman to end on the winning side in a European final since an 18-year-old Gary Mills in the 1980 European Cup final. Playing alongside Mills that day? Gray's grandad, Frank Gray. #lufc

But... but... they fired all those tea ladies and club historians...

Also available as a blog post, if you're into that kind of thing: swissstadia.blogspot.com/2025/05/swis...

If you've never listened to my pod on Swiss football before, you might like this as an opener. Very different from what I've done before, but I really enjoyed putting this episode together. Very short listen, less than 10 mins, and lots more to check out if you find yourself into it.

Another trophy for the #LUFC 24-25 bag. West Riding FA County Cup champions: @leedsunited.com Beat Halifax Town on penalties after a 1-1 draw. What a season on so many levels 🏆🏆🏆

Another random ex #LUFC player thread. Most of you will know about Lee Erwin's globetrotting adventures since leaving Leeds. He's played in Iran, Lebanon, Finland... even Oldham. While he might not have found the net for Leeds, he's scored plenty since leaving & even has a few titles to his name.

Well, you shouldn't have been absolutely shite at your job then, Shaun. #LUFC

I always try to keep an eye on #LUFC players as they head out into the world. Keenan Carole (son of Seb) left Leeds in 2024, heading to Servette (Geneva) to join up with their academy sides. After finding it difficult to break through in Switzerland however, Carole has moved on loan... (1/3)

Leeds United's first black player and the first black South African to play in England’s top division. A brave pioneer who used his own money to fly to England from South African apartheid without any promise of a Leeds playing contract or expenses. Thank you, Gerry Francis. 🙌 #LUFC

I wrote about Gerry Francis for @thesquareball.net article on #LUFC & the BLM movement a few years back. I had almost no idea about his career or connection to the club despite the fact he was our first black player. Very sad to hear about his passing. Hopefully the club are aware @leedsunited.com

Very unlike Tyrone Mings to inflict severe facial injuries on an opponent. A real one-off moment. He must be very concerned about the consequences of his actions, as accidental as they must have been.

I see everything's going well for Victor in Spain... #LUFC

I'm surprised the goal's still standing after that. Jesus.

The year is 2040. Project Arteta is sure to come good this time.

Oof. That's a lovely goal. Some player, Fabian.

Thoughts with Ethan Ampadu this morning 🙏 #LUFC

Officially renamed in honour of the man himself. #LUFC @thesquareball.net

I've written about every #LUFC game this season. I hated just about everything about game #49 - Plymouth 1-2 Leeds - but it was perfect. It had to be this way.

Greatest trophy in football. Beautiful 😍 #LUFC

I'm physically dead. Actually dead. #lufc
