TBR Jar Update: 1/129 + reading challenge Read: Witch Please by Ann Aguirre Reading Challenge: picture prompt bingo - Roman helmet- Home Front by Kristin Hannah.

It was a toss up between these two books and I couldn’t decide, so I let the wheel do it. NR: The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros

I’m too busy going down rabbit holes to read what I’m supposed to.

Soo… my reading has gone off the rails. As have my posting. I don’t know what this means, but I am enjoying what I’m reading. I’ll work on getting my reviews up this week. CR: Home Front by Kristin Hannah #frommylibrary #libraryfinds #bcpl #bullittcountypubliclibrary #borrowed

Sooo… to get my collections under control I decided to make a TBR jar and make that my main focus for reading. (Keep an eye on the blog for details). This pick led me to Witch Please by Ann Aguirre. It’s the first in the Fix-it Witches series. #currentlyreading #tbrjarpick #offmybookshlf #owned

Am I going to get much more of my #magicalreadathon TBR? No, but I’ll carry those books over. Am I still going to try? Absolutely! Book 2 is for my shapeshifting course - dragons!! #firelight by Sophie Jordan #currentlyreading #primereading #kindle #ya #fantasy

Finished Pride & Prejudice in Space 💕❤️ Starting this dragon cozy for April’s readathon! #magicalreadathon #raccoonstudies #adancewithbooks @book_roast #currentlyreading #cozy #fantasy #dragon

My unpopular opinion- if authors want readers to stop waiting for the entire series to come out, stop using cliffhangers as a way to get us to come back. Unless you are the only author one reads there are a lot of books that come between the ones you put out. And you’re asking the reader to do 1/

Why is it ok to go into detail about all of the things you liked about a book but you’re supposed to keep quiet about books you hate/dislike? Yes I feel like “this booo isn’t for me” is a cop out, especially if you say this frequently. AND why are we still debating this?

What I’m reading Wednesday: (this is not my original idea, I heard this somewhere but not sure where- if you know where please drop the credit in the comments) A- Fate of a Royal by Megan Brandy K- Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead What are you reading this week?

New post: Young Adult SFF by black authors

I have a new review up! I strayed away from fantasy and into mystery briefly for How to Solve Your Own Murder. Come see what I thought! #Booksky #Bookblogger #Mystery #BookReview

Curious what my reading would look like if I wasn’t online

Here's the deal – my newsletter is out on 1 Feb and subscribers are going to get an EXCLUSIVE look at the first chapter of my upcoming book, Special Delivery. Plus, when you sign up, you get a FREE Odyssey Earth short story. I am literally giving it way, right here ➡️ subscribepage.io/GPiihl

It’s about Rose who discovers that her mom stole her away and hid her from her father and magic. When her aunt dies she becomes the next Mortal 7. I’d rate this as a middling urban fantasy- it doesn’t break the mold or do anything new (at least not yet) but worth checking out. Full review on TSG

In preparation for the third book, Onyx Storm (released today!) I decided to join my friends in rereading this series. I enjoyed the journey this time around, perhaps even more than the first. I enjoyed the theories, community & characters. These were a mix of all things good you look for in a book

This is a middling romantic suspense with a lot of spice. The investigation was hampered by how easily Sloan was distracted. But the chemistry between Sloan and Lincoln was sizzling. Link for full review in bio! #romanticsuspense #spicy #fiction #audiobook

This is a funny romance sprinkled with spice between 2 history teachers. Love the characters and the pacing of the story. Loved the promposal. This is a recommendation for @thestorygraph and it was good one. Not rushing for the next one, but Dade is on my radar for sure. Check bio for full review

Just finished: Romantasy about a princess with a troublesome gods gift and a king who sacrifices his heart for his kingdom. like Faraine and Vor, they are good together. Her dad (the human king) sucks. The ending! There is so much I want to know. I’m looking forward to the next one!

New Review - a great SF heist novel that is stylish and fresh - I highly recommend Hammajang Luck by @makana-yama.bsky.social out now in the U.K. (US 14th) - thanks to @gollancz.bsky.social www.runalongtheshelves.net/blog/2025/1/...

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you? Pretty sure I’d be safe

Here it is, friends! My list of the best books I read in 2024 (as well as an extremely rare photo of a wild Jodie in her natural habitat). Operation 2024: Success! (Or Favorite Books I Read this Year) #MyFavoriteBooksFrom2024 #BestBooks2024 #Bookblogger #BookThreads #Reader

Today, I bring you a review of a book that just happens to take place on New Year's Eve. Come see why The Last Hour Between Worlds captivated me! @orbitbooks.bsky.social #Bookblogger #FantasyBooksky #Booksky ##BookReview

I’ll get back to blogging soon. I’ll tell you all about my reading plans and challenges and book buying trends then. For now, I decided to start the year off with some political fantasy with a dash of romance (or the other way around) CR: Bride of the Shadow King #shadowdaddy #currentlyreading #ku

Happy New Year!

It’s almost 5 am and this is what I’m doing. (This is when inspiration hits) I hate are you doing?

I honestly don’t remember if Ive been doing a good job of posting my reading updates. But, I’m FINALLY picking up #hownyneighborstolechristmas ! I’ve listened to a lot of Christmas book on audio so, this may be my final one for the year. #currentlyreading #christmasromance #christmasreading

Now I'm continuing to work through my #librarystacks. Just finished: Wine and Punishment by Sarah Fox, a literal cozy mystery. #currentlyreading Precinct 13 by Tate Hallway about a coroner who's latent magical abilities are activated. #librarystacks #urbanfantasy #alexconnor #bookdragon

"If you like a blend of action and mystery, strange macabre worlds, and mayhem at a grand party, I definitely recommend checking this one out." My review of The Last Hour Between Worlds by Melissa Caruso! https://buff.ly/3ZJdUL0

So this was what I picked up — not a holiday pick or TBR pick… it’s not even seasonally appropriate. But she’s living my dream (minus a bookshop in the back) so I’m reading it. #currentlyreading #wineandpunishment #sarahfox #libraryfind #bookdragon

It’s December! it’s cold and we actually have snow, so there’s no better way to start the bday than hot chocolate and a good while snuggling under a warm comfy blanket. (Have to enjoy it now before we leave for therapy.) #currentlyreading #shatteredsanctuary #review #offmykindle #bookdragon

If cat betrays them…. I’m going to be so disappointed in her. I thought she was better than being lovesick, but maybe I’m wrong 🤷🏽‍♀️ #awomanscorned #currentlyreqding #finishingup #scificmonth2024

No third act break-up for the win! He stands up for himself (rightfully so) instead of giving in to the pressure of the mean girl. She doesn’t take the mean girl’s word for it and tells him what was said. You know what this is? Mature communication!

Why did it take me so long to pick up Aurora rising?

#scifimonth day ?: oldest Sci-fi on my shelf. I don’t know if this is oldest but they’re in the collectors edition and appears to be reprints of titles. Please don’t ask me about them because I haven’t read them- and I don’t even remember why I bought them🫣🤦🏽‍♀️ #offmybookshelf #olderscifi

Most of the books I’m reading for #scifimonth2024 are the first in trilogies. Should I read them and then sprinkle the sequels out over the year or just focus on one at a time?

This is the next book that I’m picking up for #scifimonth2024. I can’t remember if this was a backup or random, but ive been wanting to pick this up for a while now. It was also recommended as a read alike- so here we are. #currentlyreading #Aurorarising #auroracycle #libraryfind #readalike

#scifimonth2024 Day 17: Recent Haul-I was going to skip this one because I haven’t bought any sci-fi books. But I took my kids to the library and well .. ooops.I needed more of the janitorial turned warrior space crew. the other two books followed me around until I agreed to take them with me.

#scififmonth2024: Day 18: Punching Above Their Weight- most of these are YA/upper MG. But all of these are examples of when characters have to step up/stand up to right wrongs, defend the weak or save the world in some way without (necessarily) having the skills to do so.

it’s time to knock out the last 50 pages. I can’t believe that this may turn out to be a favorite read, considering how ridiculous the story bones are. But don’t be fooled there’s meat to it. #scifimonth2024 #currentlyreading #almostfinished #librarybook #terminalalliance #jimchines #captainmops
