Rip to a brave fighter, journalist, LGBTQ advocate, and longtime key person on X

The GOP budget: brought to you by the phrase “stop hitting yourself.”

This matters. The world should be holding Israel to account instead of letting spout propaganda in all our countries.

It's amazing that any American women are willing to have intercourse at all, there is no 100% guaranteed contraceptive and the stakes just seem far too high to take that gamble. Even those who want to get pregnant have to consider the reality if something goes tragically wrong with the foetus.

The BSL during Finland was sensational #Eurovision

This is completely wrong. I've lived in Europe. They don't want our cars because: 1. Too big for roads and parking spaces 2. Too fuel inefficient in countries where gas is $6/gallon 3. Considered low quality for the cost

Could not have said it better! #DaPope

Just six years after his Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi was murdered and dismembered, at MBS’s direction, Jeff Bezos is going into business—and, thus, helping to enrich—the man who orchestrated it. My latest for @status.news www.status.news/p/jeff-bezos...

A reminder that if the minimum wage had kept pace with worker productivity gains since the 1960s, it would now be nearly $26 an hour.

So Eurovision is gonna need to have a VERY REAL conversation internally about what to do about a certain country that has phone banked two years in a row because of politics, right? This year was a near miss that could have killed the event. Christ that would have been bad.

Israel send propaganda songs too. They shouldn't be there ,they are committing genocide. Russia is not there because they are bombing civilians in Ukraine. Israel should not be participating in the competition and shouldn't be sponsors either.

sounds like a job for Sam Smith...

Gays vs genocide 1-0

I don't think I have ever felt so stressed at Eurovision voting! #Eurovision #ESC2025 #Eurovision2025

Massive anti-genocide protest in London today, hundreds of thousands demand justice and an end to Israel’s ongoing genocide of Gaza. #3E #EndImpunity #freepalestine

hey EBU, if you don't let a genocidal nation take part, you don't have to worry about a genocidal nation winning #Eurovision

Cannot stand the Austrian song, but genuinely not sure the contest would’ve survived had it not won. So…a very 2025 victory, I guess?

Indeed. Perhaps they should look again at the whole "being able to vote 20 times" rule...

Saunaaaaa

So far it’s Lithuanian Sigur Ros, the Austrian madness and Icelandic Jedward for me

That Austria entry into this Iceland entry is LIQUID Eurovision

One of the strangest ironies of the last ten years has been watching Britain immersing itself as deeply as ever in memories of WW2 while proudly turning its back on the project that emerged from it.

Nobody is coming to the World Cup. Nobody.

This is a very fair criticism of the prime minister from @samfr.bsky.social and therefore really quite devastating open.substack.com/pub/samf/p/t...

Trumpty-Dumpty is defunding PBS. What he calls "bias" some of us call "facts Trumpty-Dumpty doesn't like."

Funny how when Reform make gains, the media are all like “now they need to prepare for power” but when the smartest party in the room, the Green Party, make similar gains, the media ignore them 🤔

Tyrants view educated citizens as their greatest enemy. Slaveholders stopped the enslaved from learning to read. Nazis burned books. Dictators censor media. That’s why Trump is attacking education, science, and the arts – to prevent us from learning. It's Fascism 101. [Cartoon by Adam Zyglis]

Britain's very own Trump. He's never tried to hide it and so here we are...

I see a lot of people calling Reform voters stupid and I don’t think that is helpful at all. We have to remember that post-industrial communities in the North East have been failed by both main parties and left to decline for decades. It’s why they voted for Brexit and why they voted Reform.

Indoctrination.

I despair, after the brexit fiasco, how can voters possibly think that Farage and his Britain first rubbish will do anything other than fuel more bigotry, hatred and division. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

The Greens now have nearly 200 more councillors than Reform. This is not something you'd be likely to guess from all the copiously salivating media coverage of Farage & his crew of billionaire-backed far-right chancers.

Welcome to Brexitland, US, in which waywardness is described as "strategic uncertainty", restrictions on trade boost performance and self harm is lauded.... Spoiler, it does not end happily www.ft.com/content/342d...

Labour needs several million buckets of ice-cold water poured over their head and the nation's church bells ringing in unison as a very loud wake-up call. Hopefully, this is it. People voted for hope and change and vision not Reform lite and the same old Tory shite.

You’re telling me that right wing voters that Labour was trying to appeal to voted for a right wing party anyway and left wing voters decided not to vote for Labour because they’re too right wing now? Who could have possibly predicted this.

Just a thought, but maybe Labour's tactic of *Not reversing Brexit in order to keep Reform in check* isn't really working. 🙈🙈🙈 You can't fight populist lies by pretending that populist lies are the truth. #RejoinEU 🇬🇧🇪🇺
