Though I should be looking for new work, I could no longer resist mapping the 'Boids' algorithm to a neural network like structure. The result was very nice...

The closer you come to completion, the more interesting the bug get. The avatar riding on top of the robot.

Now that Roboid & Humanoid Control work together, I wondered whether it would be possible to control a Humanoid in Unity through Python.

I've managed to make Humanoid Control work with Roboid Control. This means that it will be possible for humans and robots to share the same virtual space.

Augmented Reality test for robots. The robots sees real things with the ultrasonic sensors but alse sees the virtual walls in the Unity environment.

PaleBlue released a new video on @esa.int VR Astronaut training running a very special version of Humanoid Control. Note: this is actual simulation footage! www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzDn...

I am asking myself why I am still surprised by the amout of effort it takes to make an easy-to-use, robust and effecient piece of software after more than 40 years of programming experience.

In preparing Roboid Control for release I found that it worked on an ESP32 but not an Arduino Uno R4. The cause was that the Examples folder should have been all lower case. Took me hours...

To prepare for a possible new project I do something way out of my comfort zone again: Contact Impro with Another Kind of Blue www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhQg...

Cleaning up an SD card. Found this capture of my parabolic flight in 2022. See (almost) in first-person how it looks like to be weightless. I'm wearing a Varjo headset in mixed reality mode which is being projected on the cube with Aruco codes

#Alife I am looking for research around emerging behaviour resulting from combinating different signals (like neurons). This is a concept which works well for me, but I am sure I am not the only one. (I do have a scientific background, but are not associated with a research institute ATM)

A (stationary) physical robot now joined the ant colony. The plan was to do this next week, but it proved to be easier than I thought.

One of the ants is running on an ESP32, the rest is simulated in Unity. Can you spot it? It does not drop pheromones and grab food yet, but it can follow the trail laid down by the others.

Met with Another Kind of Blue yesterday. They combine modern dance with technology. Wonderful things may follow... anotherkindofblue.nl/en/

Artificial ants. Initially the movements are random but as soon as an ant has found some food, they all go after it!

Around 20 ants sniffing their environment for pheromones (small dots) and food/net (larger dots). Blue is for home, magenta is for food. Things starting to work, but the ants need to smell each other to avoid collisions between ants.

Want to experience #zero-gravity? Learn #scuba diving! I am scuba a diver myself, I work on #VR simulation for #astronauts and joined parabolic flights. Scuba comes very close! www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnFP...

Working on pheromone smell for ants I realize it is very similar to visual sight: multiple things are detected which does get the focus?

Project: Research - Universal Tracker This year we are working on a tracker which can be used anywhere: on earth, space, moon, parabolic flight. And it needs to work on a micro controller. How hard can it be?

Project: Paleblue - Vogue In 2022 we did lots of testing of VR/XR/AR tracking solutions during zero-g parabolic flight. We then fully realized how hard it is to do tracking without gravity in a moving plane.

Project: Studio Drift - Murmuring Minds A large number of autonomous blocks responding to their environment, other blocks and visitors who can interact with them on the floor.
