So happy that the scholarship of Ruby Lal, Emma Griffin, James Boyce, Vincent Brown and others will shine in this textbook - it was such a pleasure and privilege to work with historians, & the integration of images and text is spellbinding. Bravo @counsellc.bsky.social @willgoodfellow82.bsky.social

#Historyteacher HoDs - a we get to the ‘use it or lose it’ stage of the department budget, I’ve just spent the spare bit I have on these- mainly pre-ordering book 2, which is very exciting Money where my mouth is. More info and free sample here: www.hachettelearning.com/history/chan...

I’m telling more stories than ever in my classroom. My webinar with @counsellc.bsky.social l on how I go about this is here: youtu.be/_rsR3I8BwPI?...

I loved presenting at Ark Soane '25 this weekend! I discussed the use of academic historical scholarship at Key Stage 4 and its potential for planning and delivering GCSE History.

Thank you to everyone who came to our second Ark Soane History conference yesterday. It was such a joy to see so many history teacher colleagues together. As always, I’m proudest of our pupils who were so keen to help and talk about history. What a lovely day. #Soane25

This story of mahogany is one of the most thought-provoking and illuminating approaches to teaching the transatlantic slave trade I've ever come across. @hannahcusworth.bsky.social has blended her original research into a mesmerising story for Y8, evoking contrasting but connected worlds #Soane25

The power of a brilliant curriculum for teachers: I was so ready to meet Eamon Duffy today at #Arksoane25 after teaching the magic of Morebath for over a decade. Huge thanks to @michaeldoron.bsky.social for such a special opportunity

@catherinepriggs.bsky.social i can only apologise for the Italian accent, so good to catch up!

@counsellc.bsky.social I’m full of joy! I wrote my Master’s in Education thesis on pupils’ reading of historical sources and it’s a huge passion of mine. Can’t wait for 4pm today. A big thanks to everyone who has signed up, see you there!

You're so right @victoriacrooks.bsky.social it's a really superb day, it would be wonderful to get as many people taking part as possible, and it's a real bargain!

#Soane25 is live! Come and join us on Saturday 8th February for a day with a *phenomenal* line up of speakers. Tickets are ONLY £25 (including lunch!) Don’t miss it! www.eventbrite.com/e/ark-soane-...

Vitally important thread for history teachers about using sources in the classroom and why and how we all need to do it better. In a nutshell, sign up for Hodder's webinar on this from @paulalobo.bsky.social taking place on Monday!

I'm so excited about Monday! I can't wait to share all my work on sources and how I collaborated with historian Helen Castor and anthropologist Sabine Hyland to create two unique enquiries that get my pupils really excited about studying a variety of sources in purposeful, constructive enquiries.
