“A truly beautiful story. I felt like I was reading about real people, not just characters. Paul Ilett writes so beautifully. He will draw you into the book, and captivate you until the final page.” ☆☆☆☆ Priya Murugesan, The Online Bookclub #BookSky www.paulilett.co.uk/author/five-...

Nigel Farage says Reform will end 'working from home' at the local authorities it now controls. Here's what it's going to cost local tax payers. www.paulilett.co.uk/author/paul-...

Lovely picture of the BBC national news studio. You'll notice there are two chairs. One is for the presenter, the other is for Nigel Farage #BBCnews

New novel - Five Siblings at 23 - is out soon. Click here for more info. paulilett.co.uk/author/five-...

My favourite memory from my recent holiday to Gran Canaria was being on stage at a drag cabaret show, sitting on the lap on a drag queen, and being asked what I did for a living. I said I was head of PR for TESLA and was solidly booed by several hundred audience members. Superb!

I’ve been offline for a bit, but I’m just guessing that in the past 24 hours: 1. Rowling expressed another awful opinion 2. Trump did something monumentally stupid 3. Badenoch exercised the political judgement of a toddler

I do love this time of year. My husband’s a very talented and dedicated gardener, and from now on there’ll be pops of colour appearing all over our garden.

This is Ripley. He was nervous about taking the stairs. May have panicked a bit. 12/10

My website's had a facelift, in preparation for my new novel, which is out later this year. paulilett.co.uk

Badenoch’s vindictive nature is far greater than her political judgement. She should be appalled that two UK MPs - of any party - were detained and then deported from Israel. But she just couldn’t help herself, and chose to side with Israel because the MPs were Labour. An awful, awful human being.

The US economy looks like it's tanking already. Today could well be remembered as Donald Trump's 'Liz Truss' moment. #donaldtrump #tariffs #liztruss

I’m very lucky to live in a road with such lovely trees. This time of year is particularly lovely.

And after last night's diabolical coverage of this story, the BBC should explain the same.

I don’t know why I’m watching BBC news at ten. But its coverage of the Le Pen ruling is a disgrace. When will the BBC news team just give up the ghost and admit they’re no longer even pretending to be impartial. Its right wing bias is sickening.

Prosecutors want Le Pen's punishment to include ineligibility from running for public office for five years. Crucially, they want the ineligibility to start straightaway – which would scupper her hopes of running for president in 2027. #MarineLePen

The gender critical movement is one of the most disproportionately resourced campaigns I've ever seen. And yet, after five years of ferocious GC activity, women and girls are no safer - the only measurable impact is a massive rise in hate crime and violent crime against trans and non-binary people.

DEI isn't about giving underqualified, poor performing colleagues pay rises and promotions just because they are a woman or from a minority group. DEI is about reducing the number of underqualified, poor performing colleagues who get pay rises and promotions just because they are a white man.

Quite possibly the best #DoctorWho new season trailer EVER! www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xuo...

Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson says students must be "have their views challenged and be exposed to uncomfortable truths." So trans students, living away from home for the first time, should expect to have their very existence rejected by gender critical adults working at their university?

Hellon Earth is doing Feed The Birds. And if you don’t know what that is, you’re not gay enough.

Is it because Trump’s thick as **** with no diplomacy skills at all, being thoroughly played by a murderous dictator whose approval Trump’s desperately seeking?

ANOTHER government review about trans people without a single trans person consulted. The BBC parroting the Government’s line without including a single opposing voice. Streeting accepting the recommendations in full because of course he is. I’m never voting Labour again. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

I mean.

Streeting’s history of making decisions by “following the evidence” includes the removal of gender affirming health services for trans teens based solely on the internationally discredited Cass Review. Mental health conditions are overdiagnosed, Streeting says www.bbc.com/news/article...

Our 13yo does not attend a private school, but is learning guitar and piano, and regularly performs at music concerts. There are also services at his school to support children with SEN. I can only assume Alexander lives in an incredibly deprived area if none of his local schools offer similar.

Anyone notice that ever since Elon Musk said he'd been getting death threats, he looks like this everywhere he goes?

Starmer: Confident, respected, centred and smart. Johnson: Isolated, shambling, scruffy. A joke. How satisfying that in this dangerous era, we have a Prime Minister who’s respected. And who’s not an idiot.

Fifteen years ago a friend in the US sent me a link to this video on Youtube. I had no idea what it was about, but he told me the three guys in the video were lip-syncing to a new TV show that was quickly gaining fans. What a perfect introduction to Glee! www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Lp3...

NEW: Senator Marshall (R-KS) RUNS AWAY, fleeing his own town hall after being asked about DOGE firing Veterans. MAKE HIM GO VIRAL.

Great news for #DoctorWho!! “In a news release confirming the new season's 12th April launch date, #DisneyPlus revealed that Doctor Who "was a top 5 series on Disney+ globally every week it aired". www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/do...

A kick and a punch for the first of the month.

A man found in court to have sexually assaulted a woman, gives safe passage to two men facing a trial on allegations of rape, trafficking minors and money laundering. I hope this is a massive wake-up call to women within the Republican Party. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c7...

Reform's showing in the polls is not a reflection on its campaigning and publicity. It’s a reflection of the BBC and the rest of our right-wing media disproportionately promoting it, with little or no challenge. If Reform suffered a fraction of the scrutiny of Labour, it would be polling at 5%.

To stop the far-right surge, politicians must do 3 things: * address the issues (e.g., immigration) by giving people the facts * attack misinformation on social media, in the national media and promoted by right wing politicians * make it illegal for politicians to knowingly spread misinformation

You just know the hosts on all these idiotic TV and radio discussion programmes, who are working their hardest to normalise the far right by 'innocently' playing devil's advocate every day, would have been sat there in the 1930s asking their audience; "But, doesn't Hitler have a point?"

“Millions of us are used by the wealthiest elites to perpetuate and do the dirty work of keeping systemic racism alive and thriving in the USA. It’s not our place to decide and tell Black and brown people that their reality does not exist.” www.linkedin.com/posts/synerg...
