He’s set on that Good Luck card for the happy couple! Better than Get Well Soon I suppose; everything alright at home Jazzer? #thearchers

The new verti-copter sounds great #wato But reckon the company is missing a trick focusing on Heathrow passengers when surely the largest block of potential customers will be the disgruntled weekend Network Rail passengers waiting for their replacement bus service?

A question I hear from people in my life irt reigning in the climate crisis sounds something like *Why isn't China doing its part?* And well actually....it is. Some good climate news for once: China’s emissions just dipped — even as its economy grew. @vox.com: www.vox.com/climate/4142...

As a philosophy major who adored symbolic logic courses, this may be my favorite cartoon ever.

Genuinely wondering if ReformUK plan to pay for all these policy initiatives by ‘claiming it back’ on MPs expenses? Wouldn’t be the first time #wato

Farage full of it, as ever #wato

The BBC's 'Labour in a mess' narrative is off the mark, like their obsessive platforming of Farage. He's less popular than Badenoch, but heaven forbid you actually reflect this. #wato

Farage ‘parks his tank on the government lawn’ … That’d be a septic tank, no #wato ?

Love hearing from the Tories on how Labour have messed up the economy. Do tell us more … [Not!] Note: Justin Webb’s immediate push-back at the Tory claim … [Not!] #r4today

Actually sharing Justin Webb’s exasperation at a Labour’s Bridget Phillipson recognising the 2child limit is wrong, & need to ‘lift children’ (frankly stop em from sliding into) poverty, but stopping short of actually doing the right thing. #r4today

We’re heading rapidly towards a global population of 10bn … unsustainable according to climate scientists. ‘The West’s declining birth rate (it really isn’t) would be the appropriate reaction #r4today P.S. Would also LOVE TO HEAR ReformUK’s plans to tackle climate change if they scrap NetZero??

The coverage of this appalling Liverpool attack (it was a deliberate attempt to cause injury, no?) now centres on whether or not the police were right to release details of the suspect arrested [??!] Any news on the victims, or … ye know … the driver’s actual motive? #r4today

Just finished doing some public policy analysis for a UK group. The UK has a lot of lessons to teach Australia - stay the absolute fuck away from every policy prescription the UK undertook on every area of public policy over the last two generations. And completely ignore their campaign brainworms.

Do like hearing from David ‘two brains’ Willetts. He’s one of those rare examples of a politician, particularly on the Right, driven by the evidence rather than the politics of just ‘winning the argument’. #r4today

Hard to listen to those poor children crying in Fergal Keane’s #r4today Gaza report The absolute injustice of Israelis persecuting Palestinian civilians for the crimes of Hamas makes yer blood boil

“Creating a new means test for the winter fuel payment would be highly complex and ministers are considering a simpler option, which is restoring it as a universal benefit and then recouping the money when high income pensioners fill in their tax returns” www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

Hearing a lot about Trump’s tariffs, understandably #r4today But why don’t we hear about Trump’s “Big, beautiful bill”: $4T of unfunded tax cuts for billionaires? Surely any discussion of US tariffs has to include Trump’s plans to find the cash to pay off those who bankrolled his presidency?

Interesting from PrivateEye on just how much foreign ownership of UK media already exists #wato & Perhaps why the government, “especially a Labour government” aren’t all that fussed over the Telegraph buyout audioboom.com/posts/872366...

Sorry, but Israel isn’t “fighting for its life” (although you could easily argue Palestinians are). Israel is choosing to starve & kill Arab civilians in Israel to pressurise & defeat a terrorist group #wato

“Child poverty is the biggest cause of social division in Britain today, a scar on our national conscience, and a stain on the soul of the country” Gordon Brown www.newstatesman.com/politics/soc...

“Criticism of Israel is antisemitism” surely illustrates the desperate position Israel has got itself into? #r4today

Media blackout aside, if Israel relies on UN assistance in Gaza, the UN should insist on being accompanied by international journalists. Exposure would undoubtedly shift US public opinion, key to getting Israel to stop this madness #r4today

I thought Keir Starmer was already doing that.

Good to hear Debbie Abrahams stick to her guns on #r4today (despite being chair of work & pensions select committee) & not answer Emma Barnett’s tedious Tory ‘U-turn’ questions

“Soft on crime”! Honestly, with UK prisons at capacity, is there anything more asinine than attacking alternatives to prison? #r4today

Abattoir standards ‘so high, many are going out of business’, says farmer. Really? Those standards are to protect animals from undue distress & consumers from bacteria & disease. Not too overbearing I’d say. But hark, farmers have a better idea #bbcpm

Blimey, UK now has a £40bn black hole? Tories aren’t going to like that when they couldn’t even admit to £22bn … Oh wait, it’s the Tories claiming it???!!! #wato

Imagine those who believe posting an incitement to violence online shouldn’t warrant a custodial sentence have no problem with peaceful environmental protestors getting 5years. Prison should be for serious crime, not for those trying to say something #r4today

Priti Patel on now arguing about what a great deal UKs ‘no-deal’ Brexit was I’m sure she said other things but somewhere along the line I just gave up #r4today

“Starmer & Reeves spent a decade vilifying any attempt to balance the books” according to Nick Clegg Was this the decade he ‘imagined’ doing any kind of good at Facebook? #r4today

14,000 Babies dying from starvation is not an accident or an ‘acceptable’ price to pay for a military campaign to end Hamas. Israel’s has to be stopped & US is the ONLY country capable of stopping them #r4today

Yeh, Theresa May didn’t secure THAT deal. Nick! She got drowned out by the no deal loons who went on to achieve… no deal #r4today

‘War’ is where two sides fight! #r4today If ‘genocide’ isn’t appropriate for what is happening in Gaza, then what words do adequately describe the act of a nation state starving & bombing an ethnic minority within its own borders?

This is how "This side says X, but the other side says Y" balance ends up distorting journalism. Instead of being based on the journalist's own independent, impartial analysis this question really just ventriloquises a partisan opposition stance and gives the impression the BBC fully agrees with it.

Question better asked might be: Would deal prevent UK imposing restrictions, such as geographical environmental recovery zones, on EU over fishing grounds? The deal is not surrendering control or rights to the commission. We really have to call out the Right over their hysterical claims #wato

Would ANY of these EU trade deal objections raised by the loons … sorry,… “the Conservatives”, be ANY different with a US free trade deal? #wato
