Very pleased with these GPO Passion 8x32 EDs for when I'm just out and about. I chose them over the Opticron Travellers. Equal on optics, the GPOs' magnesium body will stand up better to any knocks. They also come in a hard case. Usual great service from @birdersstore.bsky.social #BirdingGear

Polders Poelgeest nr Leiden NL west wind. The recent rainfall has been helpful to the two pairs of bluethroats breeding on the Klass Hennepoelpolder still a few marsh warblers arriving now 7 singing males across the 28 hectare reserve. Cuckoos still singing bumper year for them. #birds #dutchbirding

An odd sighting on Friday at Hill Hook NR when I narrowly avoided a male Blackbird flying at pace which then dropped a dead nestling (which had a notable wound). Would a bird carry its dead young far from the nest? Or would a Blackbird kill another chick and feed it to its young?
