Would love to connect with other #japaneseindigo #indigo #persicariatinctoria growers and dyers. Plants germinated from seeds I collected, from the 100+ plants I grew last year, are in the ground. Looking forward to the four day #indigofest on the Washington Coast in August. #botanicaldye

Two, eight hours days of botanical couture and woodland design instruction under the wonderful and exceptionally talented FrancoiĹźe Weeks in her Portland, Oregon studio. #woodlanddesign #weddingflorals #botanicaldesign

Special order season is now live through October. Order via petalandpitchfork.com and thank you for supporting locally-grown, chemical-free flowers.

I love this time of the season where there are so many possibilities. My 2025 wedding season is fully booked. Now, time to grow.

My first…

My beloved backyard. Hoping to be able to make this one…

I’ve been looking for a new seed potato supplier. Just placed and order. Excited about the Sarpo Una! Thank you @thesnarkyfarmer.bsky.social

No surprise here. At least for half of us in the country. I have Iowa farm roots. And my family and I currently live on a 15 acre historic farm in Western WA. It’s so difficult. I did not want this for the farming community. But this is the path that was chosen, whether it was fully known or not.

What’s up? A need for anyone willing and able, to call it what it is. And to call in the power of community. Images and words contained within are my own.

While many of us are doing the good work in our communities, badass women like @ellenlweintraub.bsky.social are standing brave at a broader level, saying “NO” and making it as difficult as possible to f- with our election system. I have spent the last many days hoping these warriors were out there…

NYT Op-Ed from Ezra Klein who has become one of a number of trusted media sources on Substack. This is hands down the clearest thing I have seen created to help explain what has been happening the last two weeks and why. Listen to every single word… @ezrakleinbot.bsky.social

What are you unwilling to feel? This is one of the most brutal, most clarifying questions in life, answering which requires great courage and great vulnerability. Out of that unwillingness arises the greatest inner tension of the heart, its great labor: https://www.themarginalian.org/2024/11/14/emo…

This is a transition for me, from my long-standing IG account to Bluesky. Feeling my way into it. I’ve long been a vocal advocate for social justice. I appreciate this space for that expression. I’m also a lover of wilderness, a forager and professionally, a flower grower + floral designer.

Do not obey in advance. “Most of the power of authoritarianism is given in advance.” @timothysnyder.bsky.social Find your community. Ask for support. We have each other. #donotobeyinadvance #fighttyranny

I won’t stop talking about #foodsecurity. I won’t stop talking about how incredibly important it is RIGHT NOW to support local policies that support local agriculture. And how important it is to support local farms and farmers. Find out about your county’s policies on local food security.

“One of the first signs of authoritarianism is that people start to comply with things before they are actually enforced. We can prepare for different scenarios, but we are not going to stop doing what we do."

More of this for #Kitsap County, please! #conservation

Our female #greatpyranees getting some rare inside time at our #farm. It’s another big day. What can you do that takes little time but collectively has a big impact? See my previous posts about @5calls.org and check out @jesscraven101.bsky.social most recent post. USE YOUR VOICE. NOW. EVERYDAY.
