He had to keep his remarks brief, because he's got a long drive home.

I'm looking at this subtitle and thinking "Hmm... a father's love... 15,000 books... how come Ta-Nehisi Coates had those but didn't feel the need to abandon hip-hop culture?"

One thing I'm learning about the agent game is how carefully you have to check many agencies' web pages to glean critical information.

Just saw a FB post, doubtless generated by AI, that was celebrating Stephanie Beatriz's performance on Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Detective Rosa Parks.

Pool's closed today, so I'll have to make up today's missed laps on Saturday morning. Annoying. But my query streak continues unabated, and will do so until I get a Yes.

I'm seeing posts (but haven't found a confirmed source) saying the big public land sell-off in the Big Beautiful Bill has been struck down by the Senate Parliamentarian. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Whew. Sent today's query to an agent with 68 minutes left in the day. Didn't break my streak.

JK Rowling is going to get women hurt or killed, all in the name of "protecting" women.

Finally got to spend my Father's Day gift card at Fountain Bookstore. Snagged the new @rosemarymosco.com book (THE BIRDING DICTIONARY), @scalzi.com 's STARTER VILLAIN, and a collection of horror stories by writers of color edited by Jordan Peele.

Hey, @jacobsphysics.bsky.social , you might want to start recruiting this guy.

Frankly, I think FOR ALL MANKIND is going too hard on the alternate history for season 5.

Hey, @ikcope.bsky.social , @jacobsphysics.bsky.social : is there still a sign up at the corner of US 15 and Woodberry Forest Road saying the bridge is out? I ask because it's been 30 years now. At some point I think it can just say "Dead End," or at least "No Outlet."

It’s a good thing Congress isn’t alive to see this

Summed up quite efficiently.

I had a homework assignment this week that specifically told us to write an analysis, use ChatGPT to get feedback, and submit a second draft based on its response. I told my professor I would prefer not to use an LLM for peer review and she let me just submit my own draft, but jeez.

I'm frankly worried about all the people around here reporting insect bites to their freaking insurance. How big ARE these mosquitoes, anyway?

Okay, that's ten straight days of swimming laps and nine straight days of sending agents queries for the novel. If I can just finish my homework, the month of June will pretty much lie conquered at my feet.

INarguably Tim Allen's.

This is deeply, deeply satisfying to watch. I wish I could believe it would get him out of office.

Another day, another reason to say "Fuck Mitch McConnell." #SCOTUS

The wild thing about the 2025 election: this time next year, Virginia will have its first female governor, and our lt. governor will be either an Indian-American Muslim woman or an openly gay man.

Doc probably didn't ever take advantage of it, but Monk (chemistry), Ham (law), Renny (engineering), Johnny (geology & archaeology) and Long Tom (electronics), a/k/a the Fabulous Five, would have made an absolutely *hellacious* pub trivia team. #docsavage #manofbronze
