#OTD in 1941. Lockheed Hudsons from 233 Squadron flying in starboard echelon formation over Northern Ireland. #WW2 #HISTORY

Miniart stug lll update. So far so good with the paint job. The decals took ages to apply 😂 The lower hull is weathered with oils and pigments and the upper hull just pigments so far. The tarp is a painted bit of tissue soaked into place.

During the Battle of Britain the camouflage on Fighter Command's aircraft changed as the battle progressed. Our article at www.classicwarbirds.co.uk/articles/fig... explains the markings on Fighter Command's aircraft and the changes in camouflage colours during the Battle of Britain. #ww2

Cicadas are starting to emerge in Cincinnati.

Announced at Shizuoka, Border Model's new SBD-3/4 Douglas Dauntless in 35th scale arrives in CAD for us to pick over the details. We look at them in our preview... www.themodellingnews.com/2025/05/prev...

It was a lovely day to be sitting out there today.

Started the garden today. 3 varieties Tomatoes, red pepper. Plus some seedlings I started in house and will transplant later. All in a nice raised cedar planter from Canada. 🇨🇦

Irises are starting to bloom!

Finished another little gem: French AMR 35 by firm 'first to fight'

The scrappy quilt!

A He 177 captured by the French Resistance at the end of August 1944, when the residents seized the Toulouse-Blagnac maintenance factories housing a number of He 177s. French national markings were applied, before it was sent to the United Kingdom for evaluation.

VE Day. A day that needs to be remembered, many died for this day. Millions died because of self-centred aggression. Lest we forget those who died fighting for all our freedoms in the wars across time.

Finished the Airfix F-80C Shooting Star, from their Vintage Classics range. I enjoyed the build, although it's an old kit and the fit is not always the best! Great decals though. #HistScaleModels

Calling it done. Will write it up tomorrow. #histscalemodels

😂😂😂😂

Sunday’s #ModelAircaft project is to lay down the markings on my 1/48th CA Hudson Mk. III - Using the Aviaeology decals to produce this successful RCAF sub-hunter commanded by S/L “Mollie” Small. A bit of clean-up on the tail flashes will be necessary but, so far so good ✌🏻

#WIP - Rough layout of “Missed Opportunities”. Troops from 4 Pzr Div look wistfully across the channel after the BEF evacuation from Dunkirk. Enjoying the small details - packs of cigarettes, map, jacket etc. can hopefully finish the vehicles this week once a new compressor arrives! #histscalemodels

Look at the US now! "In contrast to mechanized images of the Holocaust, child-killing involved personal deliberation of individual cases. This was intimate, done by the very doctors and nurses who cared for the children’s daily needs." Remember to resist! time.com/5255779/aspe...

Spotted in this week's uploads #2 Next up, Tamiya's 1:32 scale F4U-1 Corsair #histscalemodels www.ebay.co.uk/itm/33547827...

Whatever your view on strategic bombing, bomber crews were very brave. #WW2 #HISTORY
