Leaving do I must say that a leaving do has never really been my thing. I’m not sure why yet every time I have left a job, in brilliant sunshine or under a cloud, I have just left without the seemingly requisite party. Plenty of goodbyes but none of the hanging around, present giving or speech…

Just to point out, the last point on this UK Government announcement about the new Gibraltar Agreement is quite an outstanding bit of fantasy

What living under First Past the Post feels like:

You have to love the Brexiters losing their collective shit over Gibraltar becoming part of the Schengen Area. It's happening BECAUSE of Brexit which has made life very difficult on the Rock and that's why 95.9% of Gibraltarians voted remain.... but apparently Starmer is giving it away

I welcome the conclusion of the talks on the future EU-UK agreement on Gibraltar. It safeguards the integrity of Schengen and the Single Market, while ensuring stability, legal certainty and prosperity for the region. Congratulations Maroš Šefčovič on successful negotiations.

So far, this spending review is very positive. The Chancellor is also on the attack, pointing out significant failings of the Tories & how Labour are now putting that right. But also how opposing Labour's plans by other parties since last summer mean those parties have no way to fund the spending.

Farage first suggested a two-child cap !!!

UK Govt's £122m claim against Michelle Mone-linked company reaches high court. Got PPE contracts through VIP lane. Govt claimed PPE was defective. After denials Mone and husband admitted they personally benefitted. Wheels grind slowly when it comes to the rich. Mone was sued in December 2022.

In a democracy, the messenger is crucial. Hearing ALL our elected political parties & what they have to say in our name is crucial to being able to make informed choices. Are we hearing ALL of them? Demand b’casters provide fair plural coverage all the time. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71...

Surely I've got this wrong. BBC say they're pandering to Reform voters to win their trust. Is that right? Well BBC I think you'll find thousands & thousands of none Reform people don't trust you. What a state for a national broadcaster. Where's Nandy? Next BBC confirm Muffin the Mule voted Reform.

Worried about tech? You should be. Well worth a read. #booksky

The Labour government will repeal the 200 year old Vagrancy Act 1824, which criminalises rough sleeping in England and Wales by spring 2026. New legislation will keep both organised begging by gangs and trespassing to commit crimes against the law - two things also covered by the old law.

@itvnews.bsky.social were apparently streaming Farage’s speech in Wales on TikTok today. So we can now expect Ed Davey, Adrian Ramsey, John Swinney and Rhun ap Iorwerth’s speeches being streaming too can we? This is now propaganda and has to stop. Countdown With only three weeks to go, my impending retirement is getting closer and closer. Although I (we) have been planning this for almost two years now it has suddenly come upon me. I’ve been telling everyone who would listen that I was going and have added the fact as part of my signature.…

The BBC is explicitly, consciously pivoting right to pander to a party with just 5 MPs. Where's the outrage? Where's the coverage?! They are converting our national broadcaster into a mouthpiece for the far right and no one is doing anything about it! bylinetimes.com/2025/06/09/b...

The BBC should not be run by people who have donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to a political party. But it is. It’s actually mad! Lisa Nandy, time to get impartial people who have a stake and love of the arts, to run the BBC.

So Google is putting up its prices to pay for things I don't want. Time to move away?

Incredibly concerned to see the forcible interception of the Madleen in international waters, and thinking of all those who were on board and have been detained. UK must condemn this breach of international law and immediately demand their release.
