17 June 1942 | SS men shot 120 Polish prisoners at the Death Wall in #Auschwitz I. They were selected from those deported to the camp from Warsaw, Krakow, Tarnów, Radom, and Lublin. One of them was a brickmaker from Marki Edward Rabczyński (np. 22869). He was 29 years old.

So far, this spending review is very positive. The Chancellor is also on the attack, pointing out significant failings of the Tories & how Labour are now putting that right. But also how opposing Labour's plans by other parties since last summer mean those parties have no way to fund the spending.

UK Govt's £122m claim against Michelle Mone-linked company reaches high court. Got PPE contracts through VIP lane. Govt claimed PPE was defective. After denials Mone and husband admitted they personally benefitted. Wheels grind slowly when it comes to the rich. Mone was sued in December 2022.

The Labour government will repeal the 200 year old Vagrancy Act 1824, which criminalises rough sleeping in England and Wales by spring 2026. New legislation will keep both organised begging by gangs and trespassing to commit crimes against the law - two things also covered by the old law.
