This is a fascinating built-environment pattern from Istanbul. Mostly 9-12 story apartment buildings with 20-30' of separation between them. Almost like a cross between Rome and Tokyo

California High Speed Rail costs about 1.5x per km than international high speed rail equivalents. But both highways and transit projects in general cost 2-3x more per km than peer countries. There is nothing exceptional about CAHSR's cost issues that merits immediate cancellation.

1. Big news! The FTC took action today to end Walmart’s stranglehold on the grocery market. The agency filed suit against Pepsi for giving illegal and unfair price advantages to Walmart while charging competing grocery retailers higher prices.
