I am a retired person, and I Role Play in GTA5 or RDR2 to pass my time. Currently I am a cop in GTA5 in a World where the timeline is 1985. Once I am a detective I would love to stream it but I want to avoid people from using this data against me. Can any who follow me help?

There have been THREE velvet worm (Onychophora) posts in the last day or so, requiring a megathread. I'll add one of their coolest fossils first, from when they were exclusively marine, drawn by @franzanth.bsky.social for @arthropoda-curator.bsky.social (see next 3 skeets in thread...) 🧪

Open this image up fully. Look to the top right. That's Phobos, one of the moons of Mars. And that bright point of light? Earth.

It is a weird feeling when a family member dies and at their funeral is literally hundreds of people because they were a hero firefighter, and you realize that it would be a stretch if a dozen people will show up to yours when it is time.

Physicist Helen Quinn was born #OTD in 1943. She is best known for Peccei-Quinn theory, a proposed explanation of the Strong CP problem of quantum chromodynamics. It implies the existence of a very light particle – the axion – which is also a dark matter candidate. 🧪 🔭 👩‍🔬 Image: H. Quinn

Good morning! 🪶

This #FluorescenceFriday became a #SynapticSaturday 😁. I'm checking the expression of different neuronal proteins in the primate neocortex.4 markers below: SMI32🟡 for the large pyramidal neurons, calbindin, a calcium-binding protein in 🟣, Neun for neuron nuclei in 🟢. Dapi 🔵 for nuclei of all cells.

OK, I can't help myself, I need to show this. I'm working on the anatomy of a specific sea urchin. I'm not going to show the internal anatomy I'm making, but I can show you the animal as a whole. These are models, not actual animals 😉 😎 P.S. I love my work

I was hoping to be more prolific during galaxy season but the weather has not cooperated. I did get an LRGB capture of NGC 3817 & NGC 3829 through my 8” SCT at f/10. I need more L data to bring out the tidal halo better but it’s a good start.🔭 #Astrophotography

For Wings Wednesday-- I had quite a great sighting yesterday after work. A red-winged blackbird mobbing a burrowing owl. This really gives an idea how small the owls are! 🪶

Redid my #pollen composition after detecting edges on Fiji. Very happy with the final result . Fun fact, I just got to @mblscience.bsky.social for @aqlm.bsky.social and spring is just springing here. My #allergies are back 🤧 #microscopy #bioart #sciart #flowers #botany #plantscience #microcosmos

After 16 years of using the same camera, I finally bought an upgrade that arrives this week, so that when I encounter a really cute spider, I take pictures that look crisper than this.
