Alright everyone, one last push. If you or anyone you know is: - LGBTQ+ - 13-24 years old - In the US Trevor Project is recruiting responses for their survey on LGBTQ+ mental health. It has HUGE impacts on policy, please take it and share widely if you can :) trvr.org/survey2025

One of several reasons I have trouble approaching these trans political issues with much ā€œnuanceā€ is because once you even briefly ignore any of the ā€œdebatesā€ around minors’ healthcare, the reality is shockingly simple which is they, mostly the entirety of the GOP, is coming after these families…

My attempt at getting away from it all atBonnaroo was foiled by rain and floods, but time with family made it worth it.

Did the FDA Just Approve a New Vaccine for Infants Without Placebo Controlled Trials? No. The vaccine was approved in 2020. After proper studies, it was extended to infants, to cover high risk infants. open.substack.com/pub/stopanti... via @aboutpediatrics.bsky.social

Peaceful protests reported across Missouri to oppose Trump actions www.missourinet.com/2025/06/14/p...

Observations from the #NoKings rally in STL today... Crowd was quite large... I cannot estimate well... but I would say it was a steady stream of protesters in the march. The line of protesters marching was likely well more than a mile long @jenpsaki.msnbc.com #nokingsday /1

Ariel views of #nokings march and rally today in St. Louis. Thousands marched. Very festive and peaceful. #stlstrong

BREAKING: A Kansas state court reversed a decision that would require transgender people in Kansas to have the wrong gender markers on their IDs.

Trying to get a little joy in the middle of these dark times. Getting away to Bonnaroo has been healing to my soul.

A good bit of advice.

Not taking anything away from Senator Padilla because he was treated atrociously But I JUST want to remind everyone that the Congresswoman LaMonica McIver, a Black woman, was just indicted for just asking questions at an ICE detention center in her state Keep that same energy of support for her

58 years ago today, the Supreme Court ruled on the side of our clients Mildred and Richard Loving, legalizing interracial marriages nationwide. This Loving Day, we honor the generations of families who were torn apart by anti-miscegenation laws and celebrate the couple that changed history.

We are marching to Senator Thune’s office. There must be accountability for the detainment of a Senator. This is not normal.

Padilla: If this is how DHS responds to a senator with a question you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California.

Today they have crossed a deep red line. We, the people, must hold the president and his appointees accountable for this outrageous abuse against American liberty.

Kristi Noem must resign. She has deported a four year old with cancer, detained a U.S. marshal, and arrested two members of Congress. She’s lost the confidence of the American people. ICE must stop terrorizing our communities.

How will RFK Jr.'s change to ACIP affect access to vaccines, asks @jackjlee.bsky.social in @sfchronicle.com (note: paywall). www.sfchronicle.com/health/artic...

1. The US Transgender Survey has finally been released, and the results are stunning. - <1% of people are less satisfied after HRT. - The most common reason for detransition, pausing transition, or stopping transition is transphobia. The latest from S. Baum. Subscribe to support our journalism.

A little more on RFK's new vaccine committee: Malone - claimed vaccines cause AIDS Kulldorff - promoted mass COVID infection Meissner - opposed vaccines and masks for kids Pebsworth - worked at antivax nonprofit Levi - FL Surgeon General cited his paper when recommending not to get COVID vax

RFK Jr.’s stance on Covid vaccines for pregnant women is profoundly unethical www.statnews.com/2025/06/03/c... via @statnews.com Prof. Ruth R. Faden.

No shocker here. When transgender people are embraced by their families, they have better health outcomes. www.advocate.com/news/trans-s...

Texans are protesting peacefully, and Greg Abbott has the National Guard on standby.
Because nothing scares him more than the people standing up and speaking out. Let me remind y’all: the right to peaceful protest is in the Constitution.

I remain irate at Newsome throwing trans folks under the bus…I also am here for this.

We are again at ā€œUS government is promoting junk science to hurt peopleā€ o’clock. This is not bad only for trans folks (which is enough). It is bad for all public health and science. Further erosion of systems. www.ftc.gov/news-events/...

1. In a major ruling, a federal court has ruled that Trump's executive orders banning funding to orgs that promote "gender ideology" is likely unconstitutional. This will help protect or restore funding for LGBT centers who are plaintiffs. Subscribe to support our journalism. Order inside story.

Truth-tellers, not rioters. Protect these two men at all costs. ā€œYou feel tough with your assault rifles and your sticks. You should be standing here with us. You’re on the wrong side of history.ā€ ā€œJohn Lewis said make good trouble… that means make trouble on behalf of democracy.ā€

"In our federal system, the National Gov. possesses only limited powers; the States and the people retain the remainder. The States have broad authority to enact legislation for the public good—what we have often called a 'police power.' The Fed. Gov., by contrast, has no such authority."-SCOTUS '14

I never, ever want to hear another god damn word about state’s rights…

First they illegally deport citizens. Then they unleash ICE to terrorize communities. Now they’ve got the National Guard in L.A. to silence protestors. This ain’t about law and order. This is what authoritarianism looks like.

What a great panel on Gender & Sex at #HLP25 You know it will be good when you all color coordinate!

We’re not done yet! Two great afternoon sessions to go, with panels from our Profs @profwaltermac.bsky.social (starting now!) & @drsinhaesq.bsky.social (closing us out at 2:45 p.m.)

ā€œIt’s time for a new framework: How do we move forward?ā€ Asks Prof Heather Walter-McCabe in her presentation on ā€œMedical Evidence and Legal Analysis in Court Challenges to Anti-LGBTQ Policiesā€ during this impactful afternoon session of #HLPC25 Day 3. @profwaltermac.bsky.social

NEW: Federal judge protects trans care for federal prisoners, blocking Trump order for now. Disputing Trump's oft-repeated "gender ideology" claims, Judge Lamberth wrote that "the plaintiffs do not seem interested in propagating any particular 'ideology.'" This afternoon, at Law Dork —>

"The official also said that the timing of the announcement -- occurring during Pride month -- was intentional." Fuck right off, Pete. We don't need your ship to honor Harvey.

The SLU Center for Health Law Studies is thrilled to be traveling to Boston for the 2025 #HealthLaw Professors Conference! We’re excited to collaborate & celebrate the incredible work happening across the field. Check out the graphic to see when you can catch our faculty presenting! #HLPC25

3/ Vast majority of Medicaid recipients ARE working. Many aren't eligible for employer coverage. Why? -part-time workers (<30 hrs/wk) -probationary workers (recently hired) -temporary workers or consulting, -or employers don't offer coverage to ANY workers timothymcbride.substack.com/p/medicaid-d...

A million years ago, this was a national scandal. Today, it is just an every day occurrence that we all tacitly accept.

Pride started with a riot. This is the energy.

Following up: while Jonathan Joss complained about years of homophobic abuse from his neighbors and his husband wrote that the murderer was screaming homophobic epithets, the San Antonio police says there’s ā€œno evidenceā€ of a hate crime. This is why so many queer folks don’t like cops at Pride.
