People in Wokingham are already in desperate need of more GPs, and new housing developments will only worsen this strain. I pushed the Government to explain why they did not back the Lib Dems in making it legally binding to build new GP surgeries in housing developments.

Women have fought for centuries to assert the right NOT to let their biological sex dictate how society treats them, but now suddenly for GCs biological sex MUST dictate how society treats someone, and women have to conform to their norms of what women should be.

I am struggling to see the difference between Trump and Erdogan.

I’m extremely chuffed by just how well the below article has done - who knew public procurement frameworks could be so popular! Thanks to @bylinesnetwork.co.uk and @eastangliabylines.co.uk for sharing it so far and wide, and for all the lovely comments and DMs.

I remember the olden days, when the only reason to hide behind the sofa was the daleks, not the activities of the President of the United States

By-election results: (A) Labour gain Scottish Parliament seat (B) Lib Dems gain overall control of Wokingham Looking forward to the punditry on how these results are all about Reform doing well.

um, imagine if they said women on non-white people or disabled people had to put up with not having rights because that was the law... On their logic we'd still have slavery! CHANGE THE F***ING LAW

Reform and Farage are demanding savings from councils, who they say are wasting money. When those "savings" turn out not to be possible, we know what happens next. Reform and Farage will blame a fictitious woke elite for blocking them. They don't care about truth or facts.

so we are going to build these 12 new nuclear subs and Putin should feel intimidated? Even allowing for nothing to go wrong with the project, it's going to take at least 10 years. Why on earth would we expect Putin to worry about something that may not even happen in his lifetime?

perennial conundrum I struggle with: why is it ok to pay other people to look after your children but not ok for you to be paid to look after your own?

looking at all the nonsense people are swallowing whole, surely we should be teaching critical thinking in schools?

how do you respond to this? By working harder to make the education system better? Probably telling her she's an idiot won't work, because she clearly has an ego the size of a planet

if this is true, this is the most worrying thing yet. It puts Trump above the law.

I can't get my head around why this country is talking about mini nuclear power plants as an option but shying away from fitting all new homes with solar panels. What the heck is the matter with people?

A Eurovision themed Dr Who. Every Lib Dem is in heaven

This is the view of Lib Dems up and down the country

EXCLUSIVE for @pinknews.bsky.social this morning 🚨 Trans Plymouth City Council councillor Dylan Tippetts, who said Labour is "throwing trans people under the bus", has joined the Lib Dems. He is now the sole Lib Dem councillor in the city council. Read: www.thepinknews.com/2025/05/15/l...

Given all that Trump has instigated and encouraged since his election, how the heck does ANYBODY in the US still support him?

Feeling sad for the state of the world

South Canada it is......

I’m delighted to announce the birth of my first child. I will be taking about 5 months of parental leave, during which time my office will remain open and a proxy vote will be in place to ensure constituents are represented in Parliament.

What about using the current buildings properly i.e. opening them 18 hours a day 7 days a week? That would offer a LOT more appointments! Except there are no people to work those hours. Buildings are not much use without the staff to work in them. And that's the flaw in this plan .....

Isn't this just Trump reacting to The Apprentice movie that was made in Canada because he can't take the fact that it didn't flatter his ego?

"If you're worried about the rise of divisive populist politicians like Donald Trump and like Nigel Farage, it will be the Liberal Democrats standing up for true British values." @eddavey.libdems.org.uk

seems to me that both Trump and Farage think the best way to stop immigration is to make their country so awful to live in that no-one would want to move there

it would be absolutely hilarious if he didn't win

The gains made by the Lib Dems in the elections barely merit a mention in the Reform dominated news. The progress is real, significant and, unlike Reform, the party takes local government seriously.

My warmest congratulations to Mark Carney. Voters in Canada have elected a Liberal government on a mandate to combat Trump's dangerous populism. Across the globe, it is liberals who are taking the lead in standing up for prosperity, security and democracy in the face of Trump, Putin and the rest.
