I’m no longer an embryo, so I’m sad to have missed my opportunity to have a mesh array implanted in my brain. Yet I see a bright future for my progeny who will undoubtedly benefit from this technology which I assume will be used in measured and appropriate ways for the betterment of humanity.

What if instead of: Study x 4 years Work x 40 years Rest x 12 years (if you’re lucky) We did 4 sets of: Study x 1 years Work x 10 years Rest x 3 years

A big part of parenting tweens is waiting strategically after they ask for help to see if they figure out a problem on their own. The other part of parenting tweens is trying not to have a heart attack when they do something demonstrably stupid.

My son, holding up a bag of bird feed: “What is this? Granola FOR BIRDS?”

Saw someone give a really good genuine response on an internet forum and the person who asked the question said “thanks for not using AI.” It seems like actually carefully thinking about something and sharing your insight with someone will eventually be a gift reserved for special occasions.

In retrospect, Pizzaballa never had a chance. The data don’t lie as they say.

Who the fuck wants this

Being a Xennial parent is mostly saying stuff like “cmon Homie it’s time to get some sleep” while knowing full well your kids have no idea who Homie the clown is. The rest is just regular parent stuff like making meals for your kids that you will end up eating at 11pm over the sink like an animal.

If we assume that all colors are equally likely (p=.25), what is the likelihood that I would only get 3 or less strawberry Starbursts out of 34? Binomial X <= 3 with n=34 and p=.25 is less than 2% Is this evidence that Strawberry starbursts are actually less likely than other flavors #Statsky ?

I keep catching strays from "technology is neutral" people, so let's set things straight. 1) Technology is not neutral, especially the subset of technology called "algorithms" 2) The form-factor that makes a technology into a tool is not neutral 3) How tools are productized is not neutral [rant]

Who up archiving they NSF award history rn?

My painting BLUEBONNETS

AI tools are surprisingly conversational. I’m working with an AI assisted version of MS Excel and we were chatting and laughing and really enjoying eachother’s company. When it was time for our session to end, I asked MS Excel “Can we hang out again tomorrow?” It responded “4-Oct good buddy.”

Wow! Three scholars at Columbia, Michigan, & Maryland just introduced a measure of the partisan leanings of employers in the U.S. The data is constructed by linking voter registrations to online worker profiles. VRscores capture the political affiliations of 21.8M workers across 2.6M employers.

Everyone is using Gemini and ChatGPT to 10x their workflows and bragging on Slack about all their crazy efficiency gainz I’m over here making the world turn with SUMIFS and VLOOKUP

I;m thinkin about thos beans

I figured out how make the Superman 2 scam work BUT instead of stealing fractions of a penny from financial transactions, I steal the crusts from the uncrustable factory and feed myself for free forever. I also steal the cooldown exercises (that no one does) from the gym so I don’t get PB&J flab.

Hard truth: Pizza is everywhere. There’s no escaping it. You will continue to be offered pizza. The only way to stop eating pizza is to say no. You have to find it in yourself. Just say NO to pizza. Also, would you care for more pizza or can I eat that slice? K bye.

I’m just a guy wearing sweatpants thinking about how awesome it would be if there was a political party called the “pizza party”; we could just meet up for pizza at town hall and remind eachother that we should probably not rendition people without due process…but also there’s pizza
