Mes archives de mon stage au centre antipoison, où je passais bien trop de temps au téléphone apparemment

Our hearts go out to the incredible folks at NIOSH. On Friday night, most remaining staff were laid off—gutting programs that protect workers, like PPE approvals and firefighter health research. RFKJ’s HHS tried to downplay it on X, brushing it off as just a “required notice.” Total BS.

“Let this serve as your formal notice: your separatist efforts will fail. The strength of our Treaties and the resolve of our People are immovable. We will protect our lands and our rights with fierce determination.” Saddle Lake Cree Nation would like a word with The premier. #abpoli

I am less and less comfortable with the idea that Canada should be a Noah's ark restricted to US researchers or physicians. What about the others? Are we going to omit that in some other countries, academic freedom is also under threat (have you heard of Hungary to name a single example)?

I am working on an upcoming presentation where I'll share my own academic journey doing research on Covid. I counted 18 papers so far, 3 phases: the initial phase of scoping/rapid reviews (great collaborations with @trishgreenhalgh.bsky.social, @doctorsdilemma.bsky.social...)

We have great public library services in Edmonton: I watched 2 movies that were on my bucket list for a while, available for free on Kanopy: Meet me in St Louis and The King and the mockingbird. Look at your library streaming services!

Unfortunately, I won't travel to the US for the near future. That's too bad, but I will continue to support occupational health activities in the US remotely. I am glad that the Occ Health environment is taking action against the NIOSH cuts. ici.radio-canada.ca/nouvelle/215...

I was chatting with a couple of people from San Jose, CA yesterday, both tech workers, saying they had absolutely no idea the same molecule was much cheaper in Canada than in the US.

Just finished Small Great Things from Jodi Picoult. A great reminder that I’m not done (and never will be done) working and making progress on antiracism.

When a CEO is at that level of micromanaging, that can’t look positive for the organization and workers. In good working organizations, executive decisions should be taken at the lowest hierarchical level possible. Is it a good use of a CEOs time to normalize email signatures?

Happy Eid everyone 😊

I am super pleased to have been able to publish this theoretical paper on the Instruction to the Double, and its potential for medical education. This is an attempt to connect work sciences ("cliniques du travail") with medical education. journalhosting.ucalgary.ca/index.php/cm...

Oh no 😥 I saw it when visiting Drumheller. A good reason to visit again soon!

Dolly Parton releases a tribute song to her late husband Carl Dean as if this week hadn't been emotional enough.

I have been interviewed in the Globe and Mail on burnout where I said: "You’re not going to fix anything related to job control, design or social support with a one-hour mandatory mindfulness session at 7 p.m. – snacks included.” www.theglobeandmail.com/business/art...

✅ Prioritize safety and health at work. 👉 It’s essential for a thriving future.

I do not see how Canadian patriotism can be aligned with lowering taxes for the immediate future. We will need a lot of public investment to protect ourselves and help businesses pivot to other markets.

✨ Everyone deserves a world of work free from violence & harassment! ILO’s #C190 reinforces the right to dignity, equality & inclusion at work. Let's close gender gaps, ensure safety, and promote decent work for all.
