Really don’t understand how this isn’t a bigger issue politically. A low estimate by a proper royal college is that around 320 people a week are dying in England because of delays in A&E. That’s around 2-3% of all deaths. That seems like a lot to me.

An article on the BBC website this morning about people resisting AI contains the lovely question, "Why would I bother to read something someone couldn't be bothered to write?"

Amazon Prime thinks that because I liked ‘Conclave’, I’ll also like Dan Brown. Talk about going from the sublime to the ridiculous…

I used to think that the main benefit of doing all my searches via my own #SearXNG instance was no having any ads. Increasingly, I'm appreciating it for not having any misleading AI responses at the top!

Poor old Zelensky is probably going over and over in his mind the things he *wishes* he had said to put the idiots in their place.

Well done, uk government, for acting like communist china, who also required Apple to make their citizens' data less secure. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The irony of the richest man in the world almost single-handedly destroying an agency designed to help the world’s poor, so that the U.S. federal budget has more room for another giant tax cut for the richest man in the world and his pals, should not be lost on anyone. [Cartoon by Mike Luckovich]

Trump has now asked Elon Musk to examine US defence spending. Elon Musk’s companies have multi billion dollar contracts with the Department of Defense and are seeking more. The BBC’s Today Programme just reported the first part, without mentioning the second. Unacceptable

Spent much of the morning taking down the outside Christmas lights, in full waterproofs and wearing a sou’wester. It’s an old English tradition at this time of year.

A cautionary tale for the rest of the world that should be studied for decades. The country that imposed economic sanctions on itself.
