Hi women, just read this, even if you don’t need it someone you know will. Basic lifesaving care for us has become a political tool, most men really don’t want to talk about it/solve it/understand it, so don’t let other women die, read the article. Heck men too if you want to balance this out. Thx

though the Journal doesn't indicate its sourcing, this is the most direct reporting i've seen that Miller was responsible for defying Judge Boasberg's order to turn around the El Salvador rendition flights (Axios said only that he and Noem orchestrated the flights)

"Given 10 yrs to move to another country" Yeah, we've done that before, it's call the American Colonization Society programs funded + endorsed by elite politicians in both parties in the nineteenth century. the ACS efforts sought to "repatriate" free Black people to parts of Africa, the Caribbean.

Conspiracy Theories Gone Wild academic.oup.com/book/60473/c... by @psychunseen.bsky.social 🙏 "...mistrust of traditional institutions of epistemic authority results in a vulnerability to misinformation & disinformation" Key: Creating DISTRUST is often the GOAL of bunk-meisters! Vicious cycle.

Social Security has stopped publicly reporting its processing times for benefits, the 1-800 number’s current call wait time and numerous other performance metrics, which customers and advocates have used to track the agency’s struggling customer service programs.

This is the crucial insight. Give the mafia a dollar in “protection” money and they will come back for your entire savings tomorrow.

Elon saying he’s going to reprogram his chatbot’s view of history is a perfect example of why these kinds of AI products aren’t the neutral “tools” people always defend them as. They’re little political projects reflecting the ideologies of their creators

The US Gestapo is hunting brown people and people who speak with an accent

This isn't mentioned in the piece but there's also a worker safety angle. Many postal service trucks don't have air conditioning these do

Job Garcia’s kidnapping by the Trump administration is the top story on the LA Times website right now. www.latimes.com/california/s...

it is funny how many people affiliated with the secret police have had to say "stop making fun of the secret police, the guy in the tac vest that covers him like a training bra is a hero, he tracked down and subdued two hospice orderlies using only the W-2 forms they file annually"

👀 Scoop: Trump and Republicans want USPS to sell off its brand new EVs and chargers. That would mean literally **ripping up post office parking lots** to auction off assets with no private-sector value. It’s buried in the Senate’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.” www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

Respectfully, this ain’t it. We don’t need to sugarcoat our history, which includes the FBI (!) assassinating Black radicals in their sleep, to condemn ICE. And we don’t need to sugarcoat ICE’s specific history to do this. The demand was abolish ICE more than a few weeks ago for a reason.

What is it with mayors being not terrible lately

just adding it’s the same damn groups attacking us all in court—sometimes the same single group, Alliance Defending Freedom—but some outlets would rather blame us for a concerted far right assault on the courts and proclaim “the left lost”

Imagine the Republican freakout if Biden sent secret police to red states to grab anyone with a gun just to check and make sure they’re allowed to have them. Where are the “don’t tread on me” folks in all this?

Zohran Mamdani having billionaires throwing everything they can at him reminds me of this.

this is such an important point. i do not think that the typical american understands that for most of their lives, someone like james madison or george washington or thomas jefferson was *surrounded* by black people.

"Harrington wouldn’t give him a clear answer about his funding request, telling him, 'Unfortunately you keep finding more slaves,' he said, and that “every new person is a source of guilt and shame for Harvard.'" Yeah, I'm sure that'll go away if you just bury it.

The thing about the Khalil case is that it's very very good that he's free now but you can't have it take three months between "the government kidnaps you off the street for no basis reason whatsoever" and "a judge makes them let you go." You just can't.

Calling your students by their names, correctly and as soon as possible, is one of the most effective teaching strategies there is.

This is a key point. Actual research means looking for reliable evidence that will push you out of your comfort zone by showing you information or data that you didn't already have or know. Good researchers *look* for that. Conspiracy theorists avoid it.

LA Councilmembers Katy Yaroslavsky and Ysabel Jurado have introduced a motion to sue the Trump administration. Yaroslavsky: "We have a responsibility to protect our communities from abuse, and that includes holding the federal government accountable when it crosses the line"

Approaching a priest and seeking absolution in the bathroom cuz you feel bad about doing a fascism is wild

Michael Pham fled Vietnam at the age of 13. He was named bishop of San Diego a month ago. Today, he stood watch at a courthouse: ICE agents were “standing there covered with masks as we walked toward the courtroom. Eventually the agents scattered and went away” timesofsandiego.com/life/2025/06...

What people don't know is that the mayor of Amity was defeated in the next election, but then subsequently reelected after the town forgot about the shark.

At some point people will have to look at what their party is. In order to be taken seriously in Democrat circles you have to endorse a serial sexual harasser with rivers of blood on his hands. And you have to do it by being as racist as possible to the other guy because he's mildly socialist

“The paper suggests that the usage of LLMs could harm learning, especially for younger users…main author Nataliya Kosmyna felt it was important to release the findings to elevate concerns that as society increasingly relies upon LLMs for convenience, long-term brain development may be sacrificed”

Amazing: MIT researchers revealed how ChatGPT etc are destroying our brains and booby-trapped the report to expose those who want to use AI to ostensibly summarize the results. t.co/JXeTALBPds

Dear all, Helen passed away at 13:21 local time. Helen would not have wanted us to be sad for a long time. All they wanted was to be remembered. They looked forward to being rid of pain and to being at rest. Helen took great comfort in you, their friends and readers. pt. 1/2

We don’t know what the real name of the Director of White House Personnel is, we don’t know what country he came from, he refuses to turn in background check forms, and nobody will ask the president or press secretary about it.
