Please stop using Fandom. It's a lot of work for us to gather high-quality images but admins on Fandom have been taking our content without any attribution, and we've been ignored when we reached out to them about this. Fandom also prohibits linking to us so we cannot be properly sourced anyway.

This article is going to get hideously misunderstood by some. To clarify, this isn't gen-AI. Giant open worlds like do not happen without some kind of procedural generation. Tech like Speedtree and tools to dynamically place detail and clutter has been part of the basic design tools for ages.
