Great thread by @devingaffney.com, founder of ATProto focused startup @graze.social, on how social networks grow in fits and starts, and Bluesky is following this same rhyming pattern. Thanks Devin for putting the time in. I’m up for reworking the social internet. Let’s goooooo!

This election does both spark joy and Fanjoy

I love our elections #cdnpoli The paper ballots. The cardboard ballot boxes. The poll workers who really just want to help make it possible for you to vote. The temp hires at Elections Canada who count things up. The media reminders to go vote before polls close. It’s all great and too fragile.

Say thank you to your Elections Canada workers today! I've got family members working hard there, and they are committed to a smooth day for all you voters.

WE ARE ALMOST THERE! For the last 5 months, @ian-frost.bsky.social and I have been busting it to put together a comprehensive course on design tokens. Today we're recording our final videos (on AI and design tokens, of course) and will be editing/releasing them this week.

It's only been a day and and colleagues from my former work are already posting issues to my GitHub repos

Well today is my last day at place.com . I had a fantastic 12 years there. Will begin consulting for holepunch.to . Some time off in-between to get my affairs in order, getting ready for an amazing future.

i've been thinking about this specifically. and my conclusion: too much money in the system overrides all other ambitions happens in big biz and big orgs too. they get paralyzed by too much money. it's not even about greed, necessarily. it complexifies everything gums up the works

I made a neovim plugin for genaiscript github.com/ryanramage/g... This is going to be really useful! cc @pelikhan.bsky.social

I'm moving out of the corporate world and back into the land of open source. Same same but different, right?

I was surprised by zedd's skill at coachella. Nice to see someone talented as a DJ, drummer, and pianist.

I'm really enjoying the snare drum beabaddoobee has going. Maybe I'm weird

That feeling when your vim config breaks and you dig deeper to learn your vim distro has been abandoned

What do you call someone who threatens the world with tariffs? A Terroriff

I can say this was a very pivotal email response from me to Palantir, in 2012. "And after much deliberation, I think I am going to pass on moving interviewing forward. I don't often like shutting doors, but I am thinking that Palantir is probably not going to fit for me."

I caught this specimen today. Maybe advertising for a potential future?

More dangerous shit from Prasad. mRNA should be *raised* in priority. It represents incredible opportunity for treatment and prevention of a host of diseases, including dementia and cancers. Also, "reasons why" is grammatically redundant. It's just "reasons." Dude, you suck sooo much.

I want everyone to know what DARVO is. I explain DARVO to people multiple times a week. Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. Created by scholar Jennifer Freyd to describe the pattern of gaslighting abuse victims face, it applies to so much happening in politics, too

For anyone who just seen "A Midsummer Night’s Dream: The ‘70s Musical", or who likes sci-fi, this is a pretty clever short story about an AI Puck that takes over. It's also award winning: albertamagazines.com/wp-content/u...

Went to A Midsummer Night’s Dream: The ‘70s Musical at the Citadel Theatre last night. I was pleasantly surprised. Would recommend! #yeg #edmonton
