this is basically what my husband set up to happen in his dnd game today

the oilers really don't like doing anything the easy way, huh?

A sign sighted at a Rhode Island #nokings rally. I definitely can get behind this.

i'd rather ask ursula from the little mermaid for a favour and life advice than ask chatgpt anything

jesus christ, marchy.

LAPD is now launching tear gas into the crowd outside federal building Tear gas at 430 pm. @mayor.lacity.gov sent LAPD to clear the streets 4 hours before curfew.

Cannot stress enough that the protest in DTLA was completely nonviolent until the local police departments showed up Been in contact with multiple indies currently on the ground who confirmed this. Cops pushed, then started firing riot munitions indiscriminately

Wow, France is offering more services (safety checks, etc). to make up for fewer letters. "La Poste delivers home meals to isolated or vulnerable people priced between €22 and €100 per month. 15,000 of t150,000 daily meal deliveries are made by La Poste— they're largest operator in this sector."

Oh my god

Live scene from the Washington Mall for Trump’s parade, via a local NBC4 reporter. Meanwhile, millions are protesting nationally.

Went to NYC protest (no faces except of cops)

HAPPENING NOW: A HUGE line of protesters march through the streets of Seattle, Washington for a “No Kings Day” protest against Donald Trump (Video: FOX 13 Seattle)

I just got back from the No Kings protests in Rochester, MN. It was coordinated with the local Juneteeth celebration. We marched from Mayo Memorial Park to MLK Park where the Juneteeth celebration was being held. There was no counter-protest presence to speak of, and there was a huge turn out.

that's a lot of people

MIASMA THEORY????????? THE THING DEBUNKED IN THE 1800s???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This, too, is incredibly brave

Proud of Minnesotans

ABC…

They launched a coup, suffered no consequences for it, won back power, and have used the power to pardon everyone involved while remaking the country through violence and intimidation. It’s just ridiculous to talk about the political violence of yelling at ICE agents within that context.

The contrasting images of a DC ghost town/military parade and 1800 American cities and towns with well-attended protests is going to drive Trump batty.

Melissa Hortman, who was assassinated last night, was the Speaker of the Minnesota House in the 2023-2024 session, when Democrats ran the state government. That means she had a leading role in shepherding the many landmark reforms that Dems adopted in that period—an important legacy. Brief 🧵.

"Reporters surveyed state and local law enforcement agencies and found that at least 145 of them had resold guns on at least one occasion between 2006 and 2024. That's about 90 percent of the more than 160 agencies that responded."

Great turnout at #NoKings in Winchester, MA, despite the rain! And I gave out a lot of radical zines about anti-fascist organizing and mutual aid. 💪❤️🌈

Seniors in Salt Lake City heading out for a #nokingsprotest in front of their assisted living facility.

Provincetown is a small town, and it’s raining today, but I did a quick headcount and we’ve got 500+ people at our drag-queen-hosted #NoKings rally!

Evanston STANDS UP.

Google, Home Depot, Nissan, Adidas and Clorox have announced their plans to abandon funding for Pride Toronto. “These are American companies and they are showing their true colours,” says Pride head Kojo Modeste. Hey, it’s their money but they won’t be getting mine and I have a *long* memory 👎🏼

I'm missing my local No Kings because my girls have their recital today, but it really is heartwarming seeing photos of the huge turnout everywhere.

Houston NO KINGS

Vibrant rally in Northampton for #NoKings Day

nervous to go to protests? Don’t be. They will be peaceful family affairs. Go with a group, peel off if anything makes you nervous, don’t stay to the bitter end. This moment calls for all Americans to express their rights. And when some cannot, it’s important for others to stand in their place.

The Minnesota assassinations, the attempted arson at Governor Shapiro's home, and the violent arrest of Senator Padilla are all straight out of the Jim Crow terrorism playbook. Same goes with cops aiming for journalists covering the ICE protests. None of these are new tactics, just a new iteration.

ok that Dunkin Donuts T ...😭

It should not be lost on anyone that Minnesota Rep Melissa Hortman, who was shot to death in her home last night by an assassin, was a gun safety advocate who worked tirelessly to protect her constituents from gun violence.

Damn. Just heard that a Minnesota lawmaker, Melissa Hortman, was assassinated, and looked them up. She was on here--this is the last post she wrote

the thing about the Rubicon is as a river it's pretty easy to cross, not doing so is more about a respect for the rules than the difficulty of breaking them

Minnesota has exceptional local news. @mprnews.org and @startribune.com know their communities and will steer you right.

Hello from the No Kings protest in Philadelphia. The park is already pretty filled up, and it doesn’t actually start for another 30 minutes.

Please everyone continue to over-fill trash cans. For the crows. Leave the lids off the bins if possible. Our corvid comrades want your scraps. 🙏 🪶

Due to a shelter-in-place order and ongoing safety concerns following a shooting that targeted two elected officials, the No Kings protest in Northeast Minneapolis has been canceled. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the communities impacted by this horrifying violence.
