Reading "Selling Sexy: Victoria's Secret and the Unraveling of an American Icon" by Lauren Sherman & Chantal Fernandez. Fascinating book. I think I started gifting VS probably more than 40 years ago and haven't for the last 20 years or so. It works for some and doesn't for others.

A member of my community gave me a broken HP computer from the 90's but in very good shape. I thought I'd fix it, upgrade it, and give it back to the community. For the life of me I cannot get Windows 10 Home to update beyond a certain point. One update is broken and that's it. It stops. Insane.

So when you work at home, internet is vital. Today Xfinity was down all day. Lost a day of work. I'll put in some time this weekend so I don't fall behind but it's hard. The fatigue is very real even for tech jobs.

Hired a young woman to clean an empty rental house via Thumbtack. Messaged me she was done. I said I'd come over, review the job, and process her payment. She hadn't said how she wanted to be paid yet. The collection attempts started before I could even view the job. Just insane. Blocked 3 numbers.

Neighbor asked the HOA to do an 'architectural review' because one of the owners put 2 feet of black gutter on his black roof. As a member of the board, I went out and took a look at it. Am I going to make an issue of it? Today? When everything is so crazy? No.

Went to QFC to do the usual shopping. Got to the laundry aisle and all the laundry detergent is behind locked cases. And no one around to unlock them. Just like the high end liquor. Is the shop lifting of detergent really so bad? I went to Safeway and bought it.
