Short attention span "results now or we're pulling support" politics is mulching the trees to grow grass.

As matter of fact I *am* trying to brute force a word puzzle in a video game with a Python script. In my defense, the protagonist has access to computers and could in theory do this.

If anyone spots "lemonade fruit" being sold in the Albuquerque area, let me know. Looking for a friend. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemonad...

Teen at the library: Can I ask you...something big? Me: You can ask. Teen: Will you subscribe to my YouTube channel?

I want my ingredient measurements in GRAMS not cups, and I want my pan cooking temps in FAHRENHEITS not medium lows/highs. *pounds table semi-Americanly*

The Blue Prince is a video game example of "neat idea; absolutely amazing implementation." It doesn't need to go a *quarter* as hard to be a bestseller. And yet. The Myst / Obra Dinn spiritual successor of my dreams here.

Baby bib with octopus design. Finished 8 minutes before my friend arrived! Cotton yarn (Dishie). Pattern: www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

Knitting instructions interpretation request: There are 39 stitches per row before Row 69. I understand "Knit 14 stitches. Slip sts. Just worked into a stitch holder, bind off the next 11 stitches knitwise" but then it says "work across remaining sts. in established pattern."

Nothing like "The parent of the toddler I'm knitting a bib for is coming by this evening" to make me zoom zoom on the knit purls.

"We need a leftist Joe Rogan." We need to NOT need a leftist Joe Rogan.

Finally figured out how to fit my bike into my car! Only cut my hand once and broke off one reflector while experimenting. (I cut myself on anything. It's a talent.)

So, any other libraries have police drones deploying from their roof?

Glad once again to be approved to send out queer booklist brochures. Sad once again that they can't be full color. *no LLMs were used in the making of the brochures.

Adult efficiency is getting two procedures that require being knocked out done at the same time.

Hard to watch the City Council budget discussion when someone gets up to ask: funding for a homeless assistance obligation is being cut, so what's the plan for meeting that obligation...and the people responsible for knowing say they don't know. Almost everyone shrugs and moves forward to finish.

I feel like ALAN WAKE and I SAW THE TV GLOW perfectly split TWIN PEAKS into body (ALAN WAKE) and soul (I SAW THE TV GLOW).

I learned the word "rasher" yesterday and wow is it a fun one to say.

One of the first rooms in The Blue Prince suggested I take physical notes as I play the game. You don't know how MUCH I've wanted to play a game that benefits from note taking again! And the game style reminds me of Déjà Vu era first person room puzzle adventures. So excited!

Our union contract says we can have a witness any time a manager criticizes us. Seems like NO ONE knew, but I made sure all the workers know today. *popcorn*

Two failed tries at making good refried beans. But I don't give up easily!

Sometimes I forget to not stick my finger in boiling water to check on food.

As a hard mode enthusiast, I support this message 100%

Just saw I SAW THE TV GLOW and I didn't think a movie was allowed to do any of that.

What's so unacceptable about seeing people sleeping sitting up in a public library? Is it just a socially acceptable way to cut down on homeless people being in sight?

*tries calamansi* OMG. Where has this been all my life?! (The Philippines, evidently.)

Look I don't think THE LAST OF US is a *flawless* adaptation. After all, Abby on the show is much more thin and pretty, which is less *hot* than the game character. :( (But the show actress is doing a fantastic job anyway!)

Just cleaned my AC's condenser coils. Very handy much adult.

Ranting that we're paying an extra $500 a month mortgage because the lender is estimating our annual property tax bill to be twice what it is. Only way to adjust is to get the assessor office to print an estimate on letterhead and they refuse to do that. So I'm stuck waiting on annual bill.

Will do math for prescription dog food.

GARFIELD: HIS 9 LIVES. I was inoculated against "Garf" horror comics in the 1980s, younglings.

Sighing at the misgendering in this article, but then again I've recently been in a IRL conversation with three trans readers all calling Murderbot "he" while I'm saying "it" so I don't know if I can throw all the stones.

Okay I'll admit there are TWO reasons people are criticizing THE LAST OF US's adaptation: 1. Grown straight men not feeling attracted enough to the butch lesbian teen. 2. The same vibe as people who like later Rambo films but would hate FIRST BLOOD for having a more personal scope and less kills.

Another night of great LAST OF US adaptation. Can't believe I have to wait a year or two after the next two episodes. Hope the, um, film industry still exists at that point.
