Maintaining the stamina to fight against this tyranny right now is a marathon. Unfortunately, it's a marathon I haven't trained for...

I'm not sure if they'll be able to match his calibre but I'm afraid they'll exceed it ...

I went to my first protest almost two weeks ago. I want to go to another but I need feel like it actually does something. I don't know how to see that it has a positive effect.

It looks like we all might get the chance to try King Cheetos new ICE flavor, SS. Every day we draw nearer to not simply fighting with demonstrations.

An odd problem with being new to protests... I don't know what to write on my sign. I'm thinking "Checks & Balances" or maybe "No 3rd Terms".

This is a rough cut with almost no edits. I don't care if my shoes are the wrong color black and no I won't tuck my shirt into my slacks this is not a career it's only a job I'm only here because I've got bills to pay and I don't want to hear your bureaucratic bullshit.

I have argued that there are two ways to make change happen: 1) slowly through the process, or 2) tearing the whole thing down to start anew. We are closer to #2 than at any time in the last 100 years. Adam Conover explains the last vestiges of #1 here. youtu.be/By1Z1nk31iE?...

We need more people like Janet T. Mills, the governor of Maine, telling this cheeseball wanna be dictator to his face that they won't be bullied into bending over and taking his shit.

Apparently Trump just fired the military lawyers responsible for making sure orders are legal. Another round of fuck the checks and balances. youtube.com/shorts/QjMJ2...

I want to give people the benefit of the doubt, I want to understand the full context, I want see the good in people, but they are beyond a doubt and in the full context not good. youtube.com/shorts/ZYKRY...

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

It would be nice to have a president that is worth a days time this Monday.

I'm surprised by Trumps use of "superior" when talking about the people his anti-DEI bullshit will pull in. Gotta say, I did not NAZI that coming. A tasteless joke? Maybe, but as Jimmy Buffet said, "If I couldn't laugh I'd have to go insane." Or something like that anyway.

I've never been an activist and now that I need to be one I don't know who to talk to or where to go. We must resist what Trump is doing. What groups should I seek out?

But now, now they are a sign of hope, of what could be, where I want to be, of the possibilities. They are a physical manifestation of my seeking a new destination. /3

and it becomes our responsibility to break any curse, to overcome any hurts, to make things just a tiny bit better. We get to choose our new families, and they are a gift of new life, they are our present and they are our future. /2

Families By Me In our infancy we learned intimacy. Or not as the case may be. And the events of our adolescence become the essence of who we are as adults. But we are, at our core, our families, for better or worse, /1

I've got an ax to grind with guy about what he thinks 'an ax grind' means. youtu.be/sjgKZ_zHRs8?...

Starting the weekend with a chest cold, I hope this doesn't stick around long. I don't want to feel shit on Monday. It's already going to be a shitty day.

I saw a YouTube short calling for new tounge twisters. They need to be 1) short 2) whimsical 3) difficult to say fast. Say this 5 times fast: Nuclear missiles whistle through thistles while fissile materials fizzle in fine drizzles. I may have missed the whimsical mark.

Outrageous! This needs to blow up. They want to throw out 60,000 votes and steal the state Supreme Court election in NC!

How do you fight extremists without becoming an extremist yourself?

I hate this thought but in Bluey the dog breeds sort of represent races... I wonder what the breed riots of the 50's were like.

"This" I live by this, invested in this with vested interest in this, so if you want to try for this then you're going to die by this. It doesn't matter what this is because it's my business, you might call it selfishness but I mind it as mindfulness. By Me

There's a difference between simple and easy. Simple means a lack of steps and the absence of complexity. Some of the hardest things in my life that had to be done were simple. It's so simple, just get out of bed and get dressed to go through the day. It simply so easy to say.

Saw this on @georgetakei.bsky.social and I think the IRS should be in churches anyway. They use public services like any other business.

Went shopping earlier at a Harbor Freight next door to a Dollar Tree. Every cheap thing you need with one stop.

I'm happy to hear that the 2nd court of appeals upheld the ruling in the E. Jean Carroll case. Let's see if his 5 justices let it stick or if they bend over to let him fuck the system again.

I'm a big fan of sci-fi, a really big fan of Star Trek, but I can tell I'm an oldie stuck in my ways because Star Trek Discovery is good sci-fi but it's bad Star Trek. I wonder if people said the same thing when TNG first aired.

"...what is it they really crave, deep in their hearts? Only that things go on as normal and tomorrow is pretty much like today." -Lord Vetinari 'Feet of Clay But once things begin to change it can unfold rapidly, wildly, and the end may not resemble the begining in the slightest.

Not counting the Lower Decks canonization of Garak and Bashier's relationship, Deep Space 9 is the gayest Star Trek.

It's impossible to plan for the future when you're drowning in the now. It's impossible to see the way when no one helps with the how. 5/

If they misbehave, punish them and make them pay so they learn for another day, How not to get caught, not how to do right Money can't buy happiness but basic subsistence can be bought. 4/

We tout the truth that all should receive equality while waiving the stars and bars of a country built on imprisonment and slavery. The fight for freedom is embedded in our bones but we clutch to our outmoded ideals that failed to keep pace with reality. 3/

We'll put our lives on the line for the inalienable right to question our government's activities flying the yellow flag and shouting don't tread on me as we walk on the ashes of our history. Freedom isn't free. But what price are you willing to pay for the right to die in agony? 2/

We call this the land of the Brave and the home of the free, a country where the ideal is to just let people be, but we leave them alone to drown in a sea of depression, anxiety, debt, and a quest for property. 1/

I have seen places where the government has collapsed and the people are fighting for their lives. We are no where near that and yet we are closer than I ever thought possible.

@danpovenmire.bsky.social Watching Phineas and Ferb and we definitely need Croquet Y8 in the upcoming seasons.

People are people. They've always been people and will always be people. This is why anyone is capable of anything, good or bad, given the circumstances. If we want to be better we must make the choices and take the actions or we will never change.

The presidential pardon should be done away with. Both sides abuse it and as LegalEagle puts it, "In a world where we're tallying up the pardons to see who's worse, is one where we all lose " youtu.be/m3y99Ph8rb0?...

I hate shouting into the void but I must start speaking if I ever want my voice to be heard.
