Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

Once I was reading a book where a werewolf got stuck TFed and ended up in a shelter. He was evaluating adopters to pick one to go home with. Several were rejected immediately because they reeked of loneliness. Now, yes, getting a dog just because you're lonely is a bad idea. 1/2

Hindsight Bias is a heck of a thing. In the past, everything is clear. A neat line of events, one causing the next. Looking at it, it's so simple! You feel like an idiot for not seeing how it would turn out. This is illusion. The truth is: nobody knows what they're doing at the time they do it.
