Subtle

Adtech is a whole thing. It is vast and complex and there's a very strong reason that Google has not been easily dethroned in this market. You can't just bolt on ads as a feature and generate revenue at scale. It doesn't work like that.

Thursday! What a concept!

Amazing: MIT researchers revealed how ChatGPT etc are destroying our brains and booby-trapped the report to expose those who want to use AI to ostensibly summarize the results. t.co/JXeTALBPds

Hortman was a catholic who ensured children got fed and her killer was in a psycho church that demanded violent prayer and guess which one is getting the"Christian" coverage

Don’t send me an unsolicited picture of your peewee cocktapus unless you want me to… A: find your mom’s Facebook B: find a picture she uploaded of you reminiscing about what a nice young man you were C: badly photoshop that into a locket D: convince you I’m your daughter. Happy Father’s Day Daddy.

IT/Tech. The misuse of your personal data is largely prevented by a combination of safeguards and employees behaving correctly. There is no real way to run a functioning organisation AND prevent insider threat to data if someone is committed to acting maliciously/unethically.

Happy Bloomsday to all who celebrate

It drives me a bit nuts that the left is just as bad for spouting misinformation and disinformation as the right. Just because "the good guys" are being economical with the actualite (at best) doesn't make it ok. This is a good delve into Curtis's latest nonsense.

golf is a very strange game because basically you're taking a huge amount of land and making it a weirdass obstacle course for a tiny ball. imagine holding a golf ball up to see the ~200 acres you have reshaped and whispering to it "this is for you. this is all for you"

Razorlight really went for exposition rather than lyricism with 'I met a girl She asked me my name I told her what it was'

this seems like an incredible way to get yourself into huge amounts of trouble with several tax and immigration departments simultaneously

assassinations, handcuffing a senator at press conference, marines detaining a civilian, and a military parade for the president’s birthday. rough week for democracy.

The only way this could be more ideal is if he's in La Rochelle.

In France. People at the table next to us are talking about going swimming - I could not be more prepared for this conversation.

The latest sat pics confirmed 4000 russian tanks removed from storage. T-80 is close to extinct. Details about bases, types and conditions are in the spreadsheet by @ jonpy99 docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

The speed that pizza must have been going when it hit that tree.

This would work on me

Good news for all of you

All right, I'm going to skeet the AWS Public Sector Summit keynote's Tulsi Gabbard segment for you all, because it's not punching down when you're the freaking DNI. You need to vet speakers; despite having "Intelligence" in her title, Gabbard is clearly an idiot.

GET OLD PEOPLE OUT OF GOVERNMENT

DO NOT SIT DOWN AT A FUCKING PROTEST HOLY SHIT THIS IS A BAD IDEA AND A GREAT WAY TO GET BADLY HURT/KILLED.

I have never witnessed the utterly baboonish levels of jeering Reeves endures in the Commons - and this level of disrespect started on day one, so it is nothing to do with policies, credentials, or ability and everything to do with her being a woman.

And there you have it- Google laying people off/doing buyouts to fund their AI push. Big tech is a death cult. If generative AI were a real growth industry with fundamentally useful products that people wanted this wouldn't be happening. www.wsj.com/tech/ai/goog...

Almost everyone: "Electric cars are too expensive and are all SUVs. We need smaller, cheaper ones." *BYD launches new compact, high-quality electric car in the UK at £18,000* BBC: No, not like that. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I firmly believe David Walliams should be punished to the harshest extent of the law for (waves hand vaguely) whatever they can think of

A brand of US sweets are "unsafe to eat" and contain ingredients which could damage DNA and increase the risk of cancer, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned. UK businesses and consumers are being urged to stop buying and selling the Jolly Ranchers products, owned by US company Hershey.
