svelte kinda stopped marketing performance as a feature because "react is fast enough" but... it just isn't. so many of these stories. maybe the compiler will fix it. anyway the real money quote is "Features that took days in React could be built in hours with Svelte". many such cases!

I wanna get some security cams, and everything inside me says I should go full Ubiquiti, all local. But damn if I've got the time to set all that up. The convenience of Nest Cams is very tempting...

In the year 2025, React - a framework primarily for the _browser_ - is still only distributed as CJS. We need to talk more about this..

Unpopular opinion: Keynote with Magic Move is good actually. The mouse is an excellent device for positioning elements exactly where you want them.

I just realized today, that there were a good handful of cool announcements at the @sveltesociety.dev Summit, that people who didn't see the talks still dont know about because they haven't been shared outside of the Summit yet. 😱

Are @svelte.dev attachments the same as @react.dev functional refs, or is there a difference I'm missing?

Storybook 9 isn't even out yet and we're already seeing some pretty wild (and surprising) reactions to the Component Testing features. 🤯

If you care about the testability of your CSS styles, you should upvote this proposal by @justinfagnani.com to the heavens. It would be a huge thing to solve IMO. 🎉 Repost for reach. 🙏 github.com/w3c/csswg-dr...

I bought my first @cloudflare.social stonks today, which makes me a pretty big deal on the interwebs.

If you were building a package that included UI components, and you wanted those to be web components, authored in Svelte, but distributed so consumers dont need Svelte, how would you do it? svelte-package doesn't compile, which AFAIK is necessary here. tsup doesn't play well with Svelte.. 🤔

We did a stealth release of the Svelte CSF addon last week, in preparation of the summit. 🎉 But then I couldn't fit it into my talk to announce it, so it remained stealth. 🙃 But not anymore, v5 of the addon is now stable!! We did _a lot_ of bugfixing in the past two weeks, before stabilizing it 🙂

Alright, we're actually doing this open working thing. We're going to work on projects, for real clients who are set up to make people's lives tangibly better. We can only do that if it works financially though because we've got mortgages etc. Your support will make this happen.
