How come “shrinking government” always involves taking away school lunches and building 3,000 more prisons.

One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.

It's nice to see elected representatives visiting their constituents who have been detained by ICE but may I respectfully suggest university presidents consider doing the same

“Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History” is an affront to the First Amendment. Through top-down censorship, this order is an attempt to rewrite history to normalize inequality and to legitimize illegitimate power. In the names of truth and sanity it promotes falsehood and propagates fear.

It's weird to have elected leaders who say they want to crash the economy, reinstate segregation, strip human rights and create a perpetual underclass and then have people ask why are they doing this are they bad at economics ?
