Republicans aren't being transparent about what's in their budget, but the math doesn't add up. We're demanding clarity and a budget that works for all Americans.

In the same bill that exempts gun accessories from taxes, Republicans make Medicaid patients pay a sick tax every time they go to the doctor. It's heartless, and it's bad budget policy.

House Republicans just pushed their budget through committee in the most cowardly way. The fight against this budget continues this week — American families deserve better.

Our prayers are with President Biden and his entire family. Chris and I wish him strength and healing during this challenging time.

Republicans couldn't even pass their own terrible budget out of a committee they control. American families deserve better.

A budget is a statement of morals. Republicans have made their morals clear. Under their budget, kids in Kentucky will go hungry, hospitals will close, and millions will be kicked off their health insurance. All so billionaires pay even less in taxes. I'm voting NO.

Half a million Kentuckians rely on SNAP — over 200,000 of which are kids. Trump wants to take their next meal away. bit.ly/3S8KaDU

Medicaid work requirements are just another way for Republicans to cut Medicaid without having to admit that's what they're doing. They're CREATING red tape so they can take health care away from kids and families.

"Move fast and break things" is no way to operate the government. Not when you're breaking veterans benefits, Social Security checks, and a parent's ability to put food on the table.

Happy Anniversary! It's been 19 years of love, laughter, and powerful dance moves, and I can't wait for many, many more.

Last week, my team attended the groundbreaking for the future home of the of the Park DuValle grocery store and daycare. Dr. Jett and his team are making amazing things happen for our community!

REMINDER: I'm hosting a town hall with Former Social Security Commissioner Martin O'Malley and State Senator Keturah Herron on May 31 to talk about how we're fighting back against attacks on Social Security. RSVP here: bit.ly/42WyXv6

Donald Trump doesn't see a problem with accepting a $400 million luxury jet from the Qatari government. I can think of at least 3 major problems.

Congratulations Pope Leo XIV, the first Pope from the United States! I hope his leadership will guide us with moral clarity and unite us in the pursuit of peace, justice, and compassion. We must continue to lift up all of our neighbors, especially those on the margins.

Call it the Gulf of Mexico, call it the Gulf of America — bid naming rights out to the SEC schools for all I care. This is a distraction, and we have way too much work to do in Washington to be wasting time on something this stupid.

My 10 year old constituent June is one of the millions of Americans who would be hurt by Republicans' Medicaid cuts. Because of Medicaid, she's able to receive the 24/7 care she needs — at home, with her family. She's just a kid. She deserves better than this budget.

Almost half of kids in Kentucky get health care through Medicaid. Republicans want to gut it. These cuts will be devastating — we're fighting back to make sure they don't hurt our kids. bit.ly/3Z0tQJ2

I'm so excited to announce that the winner of this year's Congressional Art Competition is Gwyneth McMahon's piece "Illuminous" I'm looking forward to seeing this incredible piece every time I walk to the Capitol—a great reminder of how creative Louisville high schoolers are!

Social Security is under attack, but we're fighting tooth and nail to protect it. This month, I'm hosting a Social Security town hall with former Social Security Commissioner Martin O'Malley and State Sen. Keturah Herron — I hope to see you there. RSVP: bit.ly/42WyXv6

Happy Derby!

Trump's first 100 days have been an unmitigated disaster. Chaos is a constant in this administration, and Louisvillians are worse off for it — costs are still up, Medicaid and Social Security are on the chopping block, and no one can plan for the future. bit.ly/4iGa7FC

From looming Medicaid cuts to a messy trade war, 100 days under the Trump Administration have left Louisville families unable to plan for the future. @housedemocrats.bsky.social and @democrats.senate.gov are united in the fight against this chaos, and we're not backing down.

Donald Trump said he would cut government waste on day 1 — after 100 days, his failed DOGE project has cost American taxpayers more than it's cut.

This weekend, we said goodbye to the inaugural class of our Youth Advisory Council — an incredible group of students who've spent the past year sharing their perspectives and guidance with me. We're looking forward to welcoming a new round in the fall! Rising seniors can apply here: bit.ly/3UDNIjn

Every Louisville veteran should be able to get high quality health care, no matter where they live. Last week, I got a progress update on the new VA hospital in East Louisville — looking forward to seeing the good this will do for our vets!

After just 100 days of Trump's presidency, costs are up, the economy's down, and families are hurting. That's what I heard overwhelmingly at my town halls in Russell and Douglass Hills — Louisvillians are tired of the chaos.

🚨 TODAY 🚨 is the last day to vote in our Congressional Art Competition! See all of our amazing submissions and vote, here: bit.ly/42Ki1YC

As the Trump administration and House Republicans continue to target LGBTQ+ kids, it’s never been more important that we stand up and fight for all those on the margins. As a member of @equality.house.gov, I'm proud to help introduce the Equality Act.

Trump's first 100 days have been a disaster — he'll do anything to distract us from that fact.

Had a packed weekend celebrating Holi, kicking off Derby week at the Mayor's Derby Brunch, and taking the kids to the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair — it's officially spring in Louisville!

On Workers' Memorial Day, we remember every American killed or injured on the job. Too many of our health and safety guidelines are written in blood — alongside @laborcaucus.house.gov, I'm fighting to guarantee every American's right to a safe workplace.

🗓️APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN🗓️ Are you a rising high school senior graduating in 2026? Looking for a way to get involved with your community and government? We're now accepting applications for our 2025-2026 Youth Advisory Council! Learn more and apply here: bit.ly/3UDNIjn

Louisville seniors have paid into Social Security over a lifetime of work — now they're waiting hours to get help, worried about the future of a benefit they earned. I'm fighting tooth and nail to fix this. I appreciate all who came to my town hall — your voices are critical to our fight in DC.

We know that cutting Medicaid will have disastrous consequences for adults — it will also impact our kids. The choice is clear: we can make the decision to invest in our most vulnerable kids now, or we can pay for it later. bit.ly/3EOsvOx

On Yom HaShoah, we mourn and remember the millions who were murdered in the Holocaust. We must continue to combat antisemitism, bigotry, and hate in every form and remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring this kind of atrocity never occurs again.

Social Security isn’t a handout — it's earned over a lifetime of work. Trump wants to rip this lifeline away from over 150,000 Louisvillians who've paid into it paycheck after paycheck. We're going to fight like hell to make sure that doesn't happen. bit.ly/4jKs6LR

🎨 It's time to vote 🎨 We had so many incredible submissions for this year's Congressional Art Competition, and now it's up to our fellow Louisvillians to pick a winner! Our voting portal closes on April 30 — pick your favorite, here: bit.ly/42Ki1YC

Housing is a human right. This week, my team joined VOCAL-Kentucky for their Housing Now! National Day of Action — let's keep doing all we can to provide quality, affordable housing for every one of our neighbors.

Every American has a right to clean air and safe water — #EarthDay is a reminder of all that we have, and what's at stake. I will not stand idly by while Republicans gut our most foundational environmental protections and undermine our right to a safe, livable planet.

The deadline to submit your artwork for this year's Congressional Art Competition is TOMORROW! All Louisville high schoolers are invited to submit their original art — visit my website to learn more: bit.ly/3LV1EkX

In life and service, we are judged by how we treat those on the margins — Pope Francis led with that belief. Today, I join millions in mourning his passing. His legacy calls on each of us to treat all of our neighbors with compassion and lift up our most vulnerable.

Happy Easter!

REMINDER: The deadline to submit your artwork to my office for this year's Congressional Art Competition is this upcoming Tuesday, April 22! Visit my website for more details and information on how to submit your artwork before Tuesday: bit.ly/3LV1EkX

Medicaid isn't always called "Medicaid" — in Kentucky, you might call also call it KCHIP, KI-HIPP, or you might just call it WellCare. If you have insurance through Kynect — that's Medicaid. And that's the health coverage Republicans are coming after. We have to fight back.

Health care, housing, and our kids' education — that's what the Trump Administration is cutting to pay for Elon Musk's tax breaks. We're fighting this in the courts, in Congress, and in our communities. bit.ly/3YqsfMz

Trump's attacks on Social Security are a betrayal of seniors and working families across America. Over 1 million Kentuckians rely on Social Security — they've earned it, and we won't stop fighting to protect it. bit.ly/42yLG6S
