One weird thing I noticed at Platfight is platform fighting gamers are strangely antagonistic towards mechanics in other games. The number of times I heard "why can x character do that?!?" instead of any interest in learning/practicing/understanding.... It's kinda whack imo.

Just got home from Platfight. Stayed an extra day for Disney 👀. Tourney experience stays undefeated. Platfight was incredibly well-run and I hope they run again next year. MVS community was so awesome. Incredibly friendly/excited players. I hope more LANs come out of this.

Surprised this popped off a bit. At one point I was a good gamer but I'm now so many years removed I've unhooked my ego from my results/skills. Now I can approach games as just... learning to navigate cool systems. Imo a much healthier way to engage w fighting games.
