The mindset has changed from "this new mechanic is clearly overpowered and should be tuned" to "everything should be as broken and easy to use as our new mechanic" The ideas of Team Ninja's new devs seem to only amount to parries and trying to scale everything up to match that. Very unfortunate.

Since a lot of people were asking me for more detailed thoughts on Dark Ages, I decided to write a full review. I find that the game's issues go beyond just gameplay, but a lack of vision that encompasses the entire experience. I hope Id learns from this. rexzakel.wordpress.com/2025/05/18/d...

Finished Dark Ages. There are ways you could have made this new gameplay style good but what was done here is terrible imo. Creatively bereft and designed to be shallow. Its better than 2016 but I respect it less cuz 2016 was bad out of ignorance whereas DDA is intentionally bad.
