Went to the Palais Royal, and found to my delight that Quebec sculptor Michel Goulet in collaboration with Francois Massut has created love-seat like poems with verses (mostly couplets) by poets stamped into them. Really wonderful poetry by a diverse group of poets. www.lesconfidents.org

Find two new poems by Emily Davidson in EVENT 53/3. Based in Vancouver (on unceded Musqueam, Squamish & Tsleil-Waututh territory), Davidson is the author of Lift (Thistledown, 2019). Her work has appeared in Arc, CV2, The Fiddlehead, Room & more. #CanLit #EVENTmagazine #Poetry

Live a little, comfort a little, cheer thyself a little.

Still life with kir and Pineau de Charentes at the lovely Rocaille Bistrot on the Left Bank in Paris.

So much is beautiful in Paris but it isn't all beautiful. Saturday someone vandalized the wall beside the Shoah memorial honouring the names of "the righteous" -- non-Jews who put their lives at stake to protect and assist Jews during the Occupation. Incomprehensible and disgusting.

My book Rue des Rosiers comes home.

First time back in Paris in too many years. Made a pilgrimage to my favourite spot, Place des Vosges. Hot May date packed with happy people.

For the second week in a row, we’re here on the ground to make sure that all food trucks get through the border crossing to Gaza. It’s intolerable that this is even necessary, but we won’t stop showing up until every last settler backs down.

So delighted to be have my poetry collection Talking to Strangers listed on CBC's 10 Canadian books to read for Jewish Heritage Month along with @ayelettsabari.bsky.social and other fine writers: www.cbc.ca/books/10-can....

To the court! Why, what place make you special, when you put off that with such contempt? But to the court!

The Online News Act (which I’ve called ”easily the biggest policy screw up in recent Canadian history“™) led Meta to ban all Canadian news links on Facebook and Instagram @nicktsergas.ca created this website to help you circumvent Meta’s news ban – move fast, break things, etc 💻🔨 sharethenews.ca

You shall find there A man who is th’ abstract of all faults That all men follow.

Our statement on the arrest of our co-Director @alonlee.bsky.social and eight other peace & anti-occupation activists at our emergency march to the Gaza border yesterday, calling for an end to our government’s war of annihilation.

What should you do if your NEA was terminated? Here are some ideas:

If your literary organization lost an NEA grant this week, I'd like to hear from you for a story I'm writing for the LARB. DMs are open, email is [email protected].

Very grateful to The Artisanal Writer for this in-depth interview about my book of poetry, Talking to Strangers. To read the article you need to register on the site, but it's a great writerly site featuring many fascinating writers. artisanalwriter.com/2025/05/07/t...

Lily-of-the-valley in my garden opening at last. Wish I could post the smell.

Ah, saw the most beautiful rhubarb at the greengrocer's and couldn't resist buying some to make my rhubarb-onion chutney. One pound of rhubarb yielded only this, but it'll do. (I do have a small rhubarb patch but it doesn't look ready to pick yet.)
