Christian Christian Nationalism is faith in drag and patriotism as theater. There is no room for it in America. The body count is already too high. open.substack.com/pub/reflecti...

Juneteenth isn't just Black history—it's American history. Here's why it matters now more than ever. reflectionsfromrichard.substack.com/p/why-junete...

Tonight has been a bad night. I was trapped in both a state of nightmares and hallucinations. My normal coping skills failed. I used ChatGPT for a guided writing coping skill. Read about the experience here. reflectionsfromrichard.substack.com/p/building-n...

This is my new style of poetry. At least I think it is new, I've never seen anything like it before. open.substack.com/pub/reflecti...

This is my Substacks Newsletter. In time, I hope to have 20 years of writings, edited, and posted to share with everyone. substack.com/@reflections...

My Father's Day poem. open.substack.com/pub/richardk...

I wrote a short story called “The Elevator Ride.” It entails the true story about the first time I met a black man. I was 7. His words still resonate as true. www.facebook.com/share/p/1EpG...

My dream of creating a newsletter that enables subscribers to actively participate wiymth the content and each other is nearly a reality. Reflections From Richard Will soon be a reality. Using original content, poetry, and essays to actively tackle the issues. Tomorrow's reality starts today.

the scale showed that I'd lost way more weight than is possible so I got a new scale that showed I've gained weight so threw out that piece of shit and brought back the old scale which knows how to treat me with civility and respect

I would like to offer anyone the opportunity to receive a poem/essay a day from me. If you are interested simply DM an email you would like it sent. I send a variety of poems. I use writing to help heal from childhood/military trauma. Thank you. Have a blessed day.

True then. True now. Thank you, Willem Arondeus.

Get ready. Trump is going to fire most of the VA workforce, 70% of which are Veterans, then to "fix" the problems he created, he's going to privatize the VA and send our veterans to expensive, shitty corporate health mills after he slashes health benefits so he and his buddies can get richer.

Trump is as awarded as a North Korean General. And like the General, his awards are shiny, large, and meaningless to anyone outside his world. His awards highlight his ego; they celebrate his arrogance, not his goodness, or his love of humanity.

I'm interested in what Trump and his cronies will do to the mentally divergent community. I have DID. Will I need to prove this again? Will they simply ignore the professional diagnosis and change it to something less complicated? Or will they remove us from society, for safety and the children?

One of my favorite poems by Shel Silverstein.

this is basically all human civilisation

Never imply that the adult survivor is to blame for their childhood abuse. Nothing a child has ever done, no matter how provocative, is justification for abuse. The abuser ALWAYS carries responsibility for the abuse. It is a criminal act.

Today is my birthday! I've written a poem for the occasion. "My Birthday Wishes" You can read it here. www.facebook.com/share/p/1BcL...

To the gays, theys, bi, lesbian & trans hotties, you will ALWAYS be safe and accepted in my house😚😚😚

Silence in the face of evil can be a kind of abuse of power, for in staying silent about someone else’s pain, we have nullified our God-given power to speak truth.

Today is a great day to support BIPOC, LGBTQA+, Women, and Non-binary creatives. Listen to their music. Read their words. Watch their movies. Share their art. There will be a concentrated effort to further marginalize their words and power in the coming years, so fight for them starting now.

Weather Hitler or Trump, I will never understand why conservatives love mediocre men.

Evangelical Christians view Trump as a modern King David, an immoral man selected by God to rule the nation. David repented. Trump will never repent about anything. Trump is not David. Trump is a modern King Nebuchadnezzar II, of Babylon, who held the nation captive. "Destroyer Of The World."

@notmydaughter.bsky.social SD--San Diego or South Dakota? I grew up in South Dakota and went to Augustana once retired from the Marines .

If you're looking for "someone"; if you're selling something. If you're reaching out for funds; if you're doing anything other than being here to enjoy life, and perhaps learn something along the way, don't bother friending me. I will block you.

Perhaps the most famous quote in literary history. Even if you have never read Dickens, I am certain you heard or read the opening sentence to "A Tale Of Two Cities" someplace else. I only dream of having writing brilliance like him. What is your favorite literary quote?
