Busy day in work today

Calls the GOAT status of a lot of recent big drinkers into question. Are they genuine talents or merely bright spots in an otherwise lackluster league? Losty, Behan, Lynch, these guys put up the numbers they did when even the average stool minder was sinking a dozen pints easy. Much to consider.

'The top twenty greatest single episodes of ANYTHING on dropout dot tv' as a discourse unironically engaged with by a majority of the fandom, would cause riots, fatwas, blood feuds and curses upon ancestors until Sam Reich steps in and names all of Full Benefits and Phantom of the Office.

Jantiquing, it's antiquing in jeans.

On my tenth consecutive re-listen of the Pirates of Caribbean Tiësto remix. Ready to declare it the peak of human achievement.

Time is a flat circle

Superman Vs The Unfeeling Moral Calculus of Late Stage Capitalism is a better movie than any of us deserve (also possibly a better movie than they've made, but that trailer is fire).

this is not an exaggeration

One of the small-talkisms I've absorbed for situations like today (rain after a protracted dry spell) is "The land was crying out for it". I kind of love the casual animism of it, especially in the city where 'The Land' mostly refers to window boxes.

It's been another bad week for Irish journalism, and it's only going to get worse - some thoughts on why no-one is obliged to engage with anyone else, ever. open.substack.com/pub/ourmanin... (For the record, I haven't yet managed to migrate form Substack, so please forgive me).

Whoever becomes the new pope I demand they take the name Urban so that we get one step closer to Pope Urban X, whose SoundCloud will, presumably, be fire.

Can the sitting government please stop voicing their opposition to Conor McGregor so he doesn't end up getting elected out of spite.

The Resistable Rizz of Arturo Ui

"The observable facts I like are incontrovertible truths of existence, the observable facts I don't like are the effects of a mass Cartesian Demon" - every person that self identifies as a 'rationalist'.

Getting the impression people on here aren't super excited for this sequel.

It probably says something about me that when I see someone in formal wear on a Dublin Bus my first thought is "Is Trinity Ball tonight?"

The older I get the more I'm convinced that someone sitting on my back and dangling a treat on a stick in front of me would fix all my problems.

Substacking is becoming a bad habit.

Last thing I will say about the Garron situation but has anyone deciphered what he means by 'new kinds of drugs' being out there? Has he been exposed to some arcane wizardry in the influencer sphere or does he think when a new nickname for Molly pops up it's a new compound?

It's been so long since I've heard from Florida Man. Feels like reuniting with an old friend.
