Writing the sentence: "As former Home Affairs secretary Michael Pezzullo told The Australian...." should have you banned from being able to go near a keyboard again.

#USA #EEUU Thousands of Protesters currently marching through Times Square NYC against Israel and the US bombing of Iran “Stop the war on Iran” .

Under pressure to invest in military over social needs, The Pacific Peace Network, with representatives from the Pacific Rim countries and together with World Beyond War, has produced a solidarity campaign which is being launched on 21 June,2025. #auspol #pacificrim #pa ...

The Albanese Government says it wants de-escalation between Israel and Iran, but it is hollow words without action. Here’s what they can do right now to support peace👇

The bloodlust the Australian media and political establishment has for dead Muslims is extraordinary.

We are going to have to endure the noise of people who have been silent about the bombing of civilians in Gaza working themselves into outrage at the bombing of civilians in Israel. We're even going to hear the perpetrators of Gaza murders and the instigators of the bombing of Iran doing so.

nah, I'm just not gonna both sides bombing iran for the same reason I didn't both sides trying to murder all of hamas. the reason iran is in the position it's in is specifically US machinations. it doesn't mean I'm fuckin thrilled with it, just that I know what happened when and how.

Art of the deal

Construction on the newest Australian submarine began the year this was released. Formal processes around new replacement subs have been going since 2007, with real billions already spent for zero current prospect of getting an actual submarine. And it's "vital." Well done all.

The US is reviewing whether to scrap AUKUS while Australia has just handed them an $800 million AUKUS tribute payment. What a nation of suckers! We’re locked into a $375b deal that our “partner” might walk away from. It’s time for Parlt to launch a full inquiry into this dud deal

Totally agree

The ALP signed on with Morrison’s gas led recovery in opposition, took it to two elections as policy. There is no gaslighting here, it’s the stated policy of the government Australians elected. Labor voters chose this. Let’s cease pretending otherwise. #AusPol

Richard Marles sucking up to Pete Hegseth confirms what an incompetent and dangerous Defence Minister he is. #auspol johnmenadue.com/post/2025/06...

More great work from @danielhurst.bsky.social for @crikey.com.au www.crikey.com.au/2025/06/04/d...

Labor’s NWS is the biggest gas export project in Aus’ history. In a climate crisis, people didn’t vote for this. So we're here to tell the govt NO to new coal & gas projects, that we want a clean energy future & the govt to work with The Greens to strengthen enviro protection in parliament.

With AUKUS, both Labor and the Coalition are desperately tying us to an erratic and dangerous security overlord that is ramping up nuclear weapons spending while slashing and politicising core science funding. Make it make sense.

There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd. It's not just budgets but research, institutions, expertise, and training the next generation.

New emissions data is out - and it’s not good news. Carbon pollution is going up, and it’s higher than under Morrison’s Libs. Labor’s approval of new coal and gas like the North West Shelf has consequences for the planet. Two climate tests so far - and Labor’s failed both.

Sounds like AI....

Australia's largest oil and gas project will continue until 2070, making a complete mockery of fake aspirations for "net zero emissions" by 2050. This shameful decision was postponed until after a federal election, just 3 weeks ago. Nobody voted for this. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-05...

Strong statement from Tuvalu on the threat that North West Shelf represents to our Pacific neighbours. What a pack of greedy arseholes we'd be if we approve this monster out to 2070. Via @fossiltreaty.bsky.social fossilfueltreaty.org/north-west-s...

Labor have just approved a 45 year extension to our most polluting gas project faster than Peter Dutton said he would if he won office. They sold out to their fossil fuel donors a long ago, and it's never been clearer.

It is encouraging to see the PM and his government take a more principled stance toward condemning Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. Actions speak louder than words. We urge the Australian government to recognise the State of Palestine at the UN conference in NYC next month.

I am begging that just *once* could someone using the line "let the perfect be the enemy of good" actually be defending something good, rather than something utterly sh*thouse and beloved by shonks?

What is going on in Gaza is beyond words. The starvation. The avoidable deaths of children. Australia should be leading, with other countries, the imposition of sanctions against Israel. Listening to Dr Rose is beyond painful. We are complicit as long as we fail to do everything we can.

For those wondering how Collaroy beach is getting on after the storms? What beach? Don’t let your local Council build a vertical seawall to protect private property and kill your beach. Northern BEACHES Council doesn’t deserve the name !!

"Albanese says extreme weather events...are becoming more frequent and intense as a fifth body has been found in the disaster-hit region." What the PM didn't say: 'It would be irresponsible of us to approve any more gas fields or coal mines.' #hypocrisy #auspol www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Arts administration in this country is currently cooked #auspol

In case you were wondering what the hell's been going on with GetUp Seems like everywhere you look in Australia, it's suppression of protest against Israel's genocide of Palestine Punishment of people who speak out Or studious silence

Totally bizarre that this happens immediately after an election comprehensively showing that the outrage-churning Australian newspaper has zero influence on political / public opinion. Politicians, grow some integrity. Institutions - libraries and universities, grow some courage: refuse!

Poor State Library of Qld: I hear it continued to stand strong for their prize and its worthy winner, @wyld.bsky.social until they got a legally-binding, mandatory directive from the Arts Minister to rescind it. Terrible position to be in. Over to publishers: this book needs to be picked up now.

3 steps @albomp.bsky.social must take now to condemn deliberate mass starving of Palestinian children by Israel, a crime against humanity. 1. Expel Israeli Ambassador 2. Issue sanctions against Israel 3. Cut all economic, diplomatic and military ties with Israel that enable these war crimes

Another Australian cultural institution failing to uphold its own values. Another person punished and silenced for opposing war crimes. Another cultural institution that doesn’t have the bravery to speak honestly about its straight up censorship. Weak as piss. www.slq.qld.gov.au/about/news-a...
