Just sold Robert F. Kennedy Jr. an ounce of the gamy-smelling green pellets I feed my turtle for $1200. "Can you throw in some of the juice?" he asked. It took me a minute to realize that he meant some of the water from the tank. I filled a shot glass with it and he tipped me $100 in cash.

What's the better playoff hockey night arrangement, Thursday > Saturday, or Friday > Sunday? I feel like a slow Friday today, filled with lots of hockey talk, was a decent way to ease into the weekend, with a huge game on Hockey Night in Canada tomorrow.

Chef Michael Smith boarded a regional jet ahead of me.

First sunny weekend in months on the way

I wasn’t a fan of Sportsnet’s new panel last night

I gave Iran a chance, I said STOP hitting yourself but they didn't stop. I asked MANY TIMES why they keep hitting themselves and their response was very disrespectful and Very Unfair to all Americans, who have never and would Never hit ANYONE with their own hands. BLOOD WILL FLOW. God bless you all!

I feel like Friday the 13th only counts in fall.

The good news about this outbreak of war in the Middle East is that we have a sober and experienced foreign affairs and national security team in the White House ready to cool tempers in the region

anyone who got on social media after 2014 or so is under the mistaken impression that the primary goal of social media is for it to Accomplish Something while those of us who have been on since the start know the true purpose of social media is to give us a place to Post so we don't go (more) insane

More shocking disrespect from the Americans towards the people who flocked to their aid after 9/11. What our soldiers did for them is a big fucking joke to this guy. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

All this means is that ICE won’t raid farms and businesses in rural areas but will continue to snatch people off the street in cities.

A friend of a cousin was going to get me box seats to see the Celtics. This was during the LeBron Big Three era in Miami. The only stipulation was that it couldn’t be a Heat game. That’s a superstar

DEMOCRATS: what if we tacked more to the right to appeal to voters here

I feel like we need a full @davidjroth.bsky.social podcast special on the White Sox Pope

Checking in on the pro-family folks who are using masked men to abduct pregnant citizens off the street.

I love the Internet Roadtrip Context: the radio station we're listening to in Dartmouth mentioned the mayor's plan to kill bike lanes

The Internet Roadtrip allows people to listen to local radio. People from around the world are now streaming 105.9FM Seaside FM and sending requests to a bemused afternoon DJ in Eastern Passage. We're now jamming to Joel Plaskett in rural Nova Scotia. neal.fun/internet-roa...

Half of America looked at this chart and decided that dominating the global scientific and academic leaderboard was woke and for losers.

It's me, I'm Shrek.

Nashwaaksis Memorial School opened in 1948 and has seven full school days left until it closes for good next Friday afternoon. Children will begin attending the new Sunset Acres Elementary on McAdam Avenue in September.

OH NO OH GOD

They drove right past my grandmother's old condo complex on Novalea, but I couldn't get them to turn up Heatherwood Cres.

I explicitely demanded the dumbest appliances possible when we bought a new kitchen set. No screens. No electronics. Analog dials. My oven unfortunately still has a digital control screen that I am confident will die in less than five years.

Posting this 1967 Birmingham News editorial cartoon for all the people who don't realize that this is how MLK was viewed by a big chunk of white America.

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

real bummer finding out that literally everything was on the honor system this whole time
