3 Reform in the top 10. 1st Lib Dem is at 24 1st Green at 84 This is a failure of the UK new media ecosystem.

Anyone know anyone in Wantage? Consultation launches today on how to make Market Place a nicer public realm and better for walking and cycling. Do share the below with any people and groups you know there. letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/wantage-mark...

Two thoughts: 1) A (de)congestion charge will be effective in reducing traffic and making buses faster + more reliable. The thought put into the exemptions (eg for care workers, blue badge holders) is positive to see. 2) I hope an online survey is not the main/only way people are being consulted.

Great explainer of how we got to today’s broken housing market…

we should probably be prouder of the UK's success in reducing its share emissions... even including offshore footprint it's a 36% reduction since 1990

#NowPlaying The Dreaming Spires - Normal Town - on 107 Meridian FM Who thought we'd be playing them on #NewMusicMonday in 2025? The album us out on October 24th...

The Dreaming Spires at Sutton's @soundloungecio.bsky.social yesterday evening, featuring @robinfbennett.bsky.social Great gig, highly recommended - apparently a new album is on the way... #photography #music #London

Exciting night down in Sutton tonight where our great friends (and band mates!) The Dreaming Spires & Demo Buttons are taking the stage at the @soundloungecio.bsky.social…This promises to be a night of fantastic songwriting, brotherly harmonies & melodic sunshine…So get down there folks!! 😎💥❤️

An important but under-funded way to boost the amount of social housing is for councils to buy existing homes into their stock. It pays off in rents, less benefit £ and huge wider gains, and it helped the Mayor of London achieve his housing targets. I call it Buy the Supply. 🧵

Some think inequality is fine if those with the least are getting a bit more than before, But inequality in resources means inequality in power, & any widening power gap is a threat to us: henry-tam.blogspot.com/2025/05/the-...

I hosted 7 hours of talks @woodhq.bsky.social this year - some amazing people - here is a necessarily brief write up! open.substack.com/pub/hughwarw... @robinince.bsky.social @miaeisenstadt.bsky.social @caperoxford.bsky.social

Lots of places are about to get a crash course in #Localgov with - Suspended councillors - TeamNigel councils made up of councillors who have never met altogether - & thus have never worked together - Have lots of councillors unfamiliar with #Localgov law - Have councillors who didn’t expect to win

An absolute masterclass in how the UK media platforms and normalises far right politics. This is how Farage wins.

So how’s everything going in America?

Love this. In his “I Agree” installation Dima Yarovinsky-Yahel took the content from terms of service statements for companies like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Tinder and printed them out on A4 paper with a standard font size for legal contracts to demonstrate the length of these agreements.

The Greens now have nearly 200 more councillors than Reform. This is not something you'd be likely to guess from all the copiously salivating media coverage of Farage & his crew of billionaire-backed far-right chancers.

Some interesting results... both halves of 'my' division stayed Green - congratulations to Robin and Gavin - and we went from 3 to 7 seats. The LDs have an overall majority now with 36 out of 69 seats. Lots of Reform votes but only one seat.

Labour's biggest issue is neither being too socially conserative or not socially conservative enough. It's cuts. People have had enough.

🚨 Don’t forget your photo ID (and suncream! ☀️) when going to vote today.

Today thousands head to the polls for local elections. Your voice counts. Vote for a fairer, greener future.

🚨 New report from the Bennett Institute warns that social & cultural spaces like libraries, galleries & community hubs risk being overlooked without better ways to measure their impact. They’re vital for economic growth & tackling inequality. www.bennettinstitute.cam.ac.uk/blog/value-o...

Light rail (or trams) would be great in Oxford and parts of rural Oxfordshire... something for the next County Council to think about!

Amazing images. Will the Pope’s aura and the sanctity of the moment work some magic, even on Trump?
