This is such a terrible headline that I can't tell if it's intentional ragebait or a lack of competent legal reporters. The unanimous Court (Jackson writing) held that straight people do not need to satisfy a *heightened* standard to show discrimination, something four Circuits previously required.

I actually want to say this really loudly because I am not seeing other non-Jews say it enough. The Israeli diplomat shooting was an antisemitic hate crime. Yes, most allegations of antisemitism within the anti-genocide movement are bullshit. THIS was antisemitism parading as anti-genocide.

I have lived in four of these cities, and one thing they have in common is extremely accessible public transit. If anyone needs a solution to world getting more expensive, a bus ride has been stable for years.

I would say it's unbelievable, but it's ABSOLUTELY believable. This administration would deport a 2-year-old U.S. citizen without due process, separate a family, and not see the irreparable harm of their actions. The inhumane actions will not stop with immigrants. All our rights are on the line.

ICE claims this was lawful because the child's father and temporary custodian "have not presented themselves to [ICE] and identified themselves." They did, however, submit a notarized mandate of custody, which they both signed. This is sufficient to establish identity in every court in the land.

I know this seems insufficient and slow to many people, but I cannot stress enough how unusual and extreme this is. Discovery disputes typically take ages. Bad faith actors can get away with a lot b/c courts strongly prefer parties try to work things out themselves. Xinis isn't having any of it.

I just met with Mohsen Mahdawi where he’s being held in Vermont. He was detained when he showed up for his citizenship interview. He should be released so he can become a citizen.
