So the $30 tennis shoes I bought to wear in lab just kept my feet completely dry while walking in the pouring rain so I think it’s safe to say they’re good for the occasional lab spill.

Freaking out about the recent #RHAP news! The past few weeks have been an emotional roller coaster for sure!

Our household goods finally got delivered and wow I’m overwhelmed. Thankfully my parents will be here all weekend to entertain the toddler so we can unpack.

Just got a targeted ad for a lord of the rings crochet kit but the balrog has wings so clearly it’s not a quality kit #lotr

I wish mom and dad had gotten a divorce before they had the chance to cancel my grant #chemsky

After a pretty rough couple hours of our drive my daughter finally fell asleep so I thought it was safe to put on #RHAP only for her to immediately wake up and cry. Sorry Rob I guess she’s not a fan 🤣

Doing the first half of our drive to Chicago today. Husband and I are each driving a car which means we can’t trade off driving and my daughter will only stop crying if she’s sleeping or if I’m loudly singing to her. My throat hurts 😅

Bittersweet day as it was my last day at West Point. It’s been a great 4 years but it was time to move on to the next opportunity. Next stop: Chicago for an industry role!

Went to clean my nearly empty apartment tonight but got distracted by my violin and the amazing acoustics. My husband even got a little worried since I was gone so long.

My daughter woke up in the middle of the night for the first time in quite a while. It’s almost as if she senses this is our last night in this apartment.

So IU is bringing back the bison mascot which is cool I guess but is anyone else a little sad they didn’t bring back these guys instead? #hoosiers

Moving with a toddler is not for the faint of heart 😳

Me: oh wow I may have finally made it through a month without leaving the state. Also me: Went to New Jersey literally this morning

Water coloring with an 18 month old is very messy but also very entertaining. I just hope it doesn’t get her voted out of #survivor someday.

I wrote a very detailed review for one of my daughter’s board books on goodreads and my cousin just “liked” it…slightly dying of embarrassment now

My novel Escape! is now available for pre-order at stephenfishbach.com or escapefishbach.com (which sounds like a horror movie). I wrote a post about it and about my inspiration for writing it. open.substack.com/pub/stephenf...

Happy mother’s day to me…the toddler just puked all over her car seat and my car 😅

Seems like my daughter has had an incident report more often than not ever since she moved to the toddler room 😅

Freaking out about the casting announcement about Ragtime’s return to #Broadway. Saw the New York City Center production last fall and would be willing to sell my left kidney for a cast recording. Joshua Henry as Coalhouse is perfection.

This challenge stresses me out to watch because I know how frustrating I’d find it if I ever had to do it #Survivor #RHAP

If you’re wondering how parenting a toddler is going, I currently have a bruise on my collar bone because she has had all 4 canines coming it at the same time for what seems like and eternity and bit me this morning

My latest paper is finally online and is open access! This fun and collaborative project has 10‼️ undergraduate coauthors and we’re excited to finally see the results published after years of work on this project! #chemsky pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

It’s a crime that it’s taken over 30 minutes for Star to get any screen time tonight #RHAP #Survivor

Congrats you have power in the game. You have safety without power…some interesting word choices on #Survivor tonight 🤣 #RHAP

Academic research is an engine of scientific and economic growth. The benefits of having a robust and well-funded nationwide research program are *enormous*.

Week 9 on #RHAP

Another day, another issue with the building preventing me from running XRD

Today is the 5 year anniversary of my PhD defense. Hard to believe it’s already been so long. A lot’s changed since then and there’s going to be some even bigger changes over the next 2 months that I’m beyond excited about. Only 1 more yr until I can say I’ve been out longer than I was in! #chemsky

It really grinds my gears when my husband is about to leave for a run and says he’s to do “just a 10k” as if that’s nothing. If I want to run that far it takes a ton of mental preparation not to mention the physical toll. #running

I’ve made the decision to defer the Brooklyn half marathon to next year. Training was going well but then I sprained my ankle and I also have some life stuff going on that will make it incredibly challenging to keep training over the next month. Hopeful to find an early fall replacement race!

SCAM ALERT. This is a fake conference that ripped off my and other people’s names to trick people into registering. There is no such conference that I or the others shown were invited or agreed to. We are working to try to get this fraud taken down from the web. chemsymposia.com

That’s a wrap on spring MRS. Got a lot of good engagement on my talk even though it was the last of the entire session. Possibly even a new collaboration.

Went for a run, felt great so I decided to shoot for 10 miles only to roll my ankle on the last quarter mile. Still finished the run though. Also shout out to the random lady on the sidewalk that stopped and asked if I was ok.

Woke up at 3:45, drove through foggy rain to EWR, and now I have a 5+ hour flight to Seattle but they have Wicked on this plane so it’s all good!

Airport security when you’re not traveling solo with a toddler is so easy.

I’m officially in the “can’t eat unhealthy snacks in front of my kid because then she’ll want some” stage of parenthood
