Went to a (very good) talk last week by someone in the US who told us that one person in her study who needed surgery for a dodgy mitral valve had to spend $300,000 to get it fixed and someone else WHO WAS INSURED still had to pay $100,000! 😱

There is no better way, IMO, of uniting a country behind its leadership, than giving it an aggressive and unpredictable external enemy known for indiscriminately murdering civilians, just at the point your leaders were finally negotiating the end of sanctions that had been making life a misery.
