A somehow funny 3x3 mosaic collage of pictures of @cyetain.com Jabe Bloom on stage in multiple very dynamic body postures during his closing keynote at #dddeu

I read @johncutle.fish’s swiggle in the middle to indicate that various processes interacting create phase spaces. He uses the term alive… if the process stop interacting, if you disentangle them… the phase space collapses… the system is dead.

Splitting a domain when you have identified the different purposes is easy, says @ziobrando.bsky.social at @dddeu.bsky.social 💯 Couldn't agree more! It's the purpose that defines the system, aka it's system principle. #DDDEU

“The way you work is as much a part of your product as the product itself” #DDDEU

"We have this mythical person in the DDD community: the domain expert" @settling-mud.bsky.social in the keynote with @johncutle.fish #dddeu

The third and final day of #DDDEU barely started and I already find myself struggling to find my way out of the beautiful mess. Should I expose it, hide it, or detach from my models and try my executive's patience? A big thank you for the morning keynote @dddeu.bsky.social

I had the absolute best time with this conversation! @comicscube.bsky.social and I found unexpected resonance on so many things from the get go and a generative conversation on comics, process, and more start to finish!

Feature Flag Alternatives to consider: • Better Split (of user stories) • GoF Design Patterns • Domain-Driven Design • Strangler Application Pattern • Branch By Abstraction • Circuit breaker Dorra BARTAGUIZ at #DDDEU

Closing keynote on life critical systems and failures at Boeing at Domain-Driven Design Europe.

this was a career highlight for me — getting to work with @cyriux.bsky.social and @malk-zameth.bsky.social and @bitboss.bsky.social and others! At times fun, serious, joyous, reflective, playful, and so *generous*

I love @nsousanis.bsky.social illustration and reference to Masaki Suwa and Barbara Tversky

I’ve noticed an uptick in dismissals of the concerns of teachers about AI. Some say that it’s *their* job to find a way to evaluate work that AI can’t replicate. I would just ask that you talk to real teachers and really listen. I’d also suggest reading a bit about writing and the brain.

This is not hypothetical at all. I am regularly met with brutal criticism out in the world of tech, by leaders and decision-makers who dismiss any evidence at all about human wellbeing because they say well, I heard about the replication crisis.

I really need to carve out time to read this (big thanks @grimalkina.bsky.social!) "AI Skill Threat: How the Structure of Developers' Beliefs about Software Development Ability Impacts Their Psychological Resilience During Rapid Technology Shift" osf.io/preprints/ps...

Aieeee so excited (and anxious but hush little voices in my head)! Next week y’all!! Still time to sign up. :)

It’s a wonderful conference that has fostered a vibrant learning community around software design practice. It’s a Good Thing to support and sponsor:

Compelling!! 👉doesn’t taste like regret👈

DDD Europe is just a few weeks away — preconference workshop days are June 2-3; conference is June 4-6: 2025.dddeurope.com/schedule/ Very excited! Still space in my workshop, focusing on bringing *design* attention to evolving *systems* — it’s a wonderful group to learn with and from!

Who’s going to DDDEU? The program looks amazing, and I for one am excited, anticipating the conversations and connecting over design, and learning together.

Only a few days left to snag Buttercup Festival original art for %60 off! See website for details: www.buttercupfestival.com/originals.htm
