Yesterday, I joined a cross-party photocall in Westminster organised by Labour MP Chris McDonald to raise awareness of the urgent need for access to treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. It was encouraging to see MPs from different parties supporting this important issue.

In Parliament, I raised that Oxford Health Trusts aren't yet providing Givinostat for boys with Duchenne, despite a business case showing it would cost just £66,000 total. I urged the Govt to step in—these families deserve timely access to treatment.

Happy Father’s Day! Every dad deserves to spend as much time as possible with their child As Chair of the APPG on Fatherhood, I’m proud to champion dads in Parliament, from mental health to modern parenting

Last week I joined fellow MPs in calling on the Government to strengthen planning reforms to better protect England’s precious chalk streams. These fragile waterways are under real pressure from overdevelopment and pollution.

It was another busy week last week both in Westminster and across the constituency

🚴‍♀️ Great to welcome @eddavey.libdems.org.uk to Thame yesterday to back the long-running campaign for the Greenway - a safe walking and cycling route between Thame and Haddenham. Thank you to Thame Cycles for showing us their fantastic workshop and all they do for our local cycling community

Well you seem to like the stats from London, so let's take a little look at what happened in some other cities that introduced 30 km/h speed limits... Brussels 🇧🇪 - road deaths ⬇️ 55% Paris 🇫🇷 - serious and fatal crashes ⬇️ 40% Zurich 🇨🇭 - road deaths ⬇️ 25%

Great to welcome Lib Dem leader, Ed Davey to Thame today to back our campaign for a safe route to Haddenham. We cycled along the Phoenix Trail to show how a Greenway can connect communities and support greener, healthier travel. Thank you to Ed, for supporting this important project!

Study on London 20 mph limits shows: - collisions ⬇️ 35% - casualties ⬇️ 36% - fatal/serious injuries ⬇️ 34% - child casualties ⬇️ 46% - child deaths ⬇️ 75% - walkers, cyclists, motorcyclists killed/seriously injured ⬇️ 28% etsc.eu/20mph-limits...

Today in Parliament I raised a serious concern that Thames Water is expected to run out of money by summer 2026. I asked the Government if it will act in or if we should be preparing for another emergency recall of Parliament. Shockingly the Minister claimed the company is stable!!

It was a pleasure to meet with the Breck Foundation last week. Their work to promote online safety and protect children from harm is incredibly important. As a member of the APPG for Children’s Online Safety, I am committed to supporting efforts that help keep young people safe in the digital world.

🎥 I spoke in Parliament during the Second Reading of the Mental Health Bill to highlight the urgent need for investment in the Warneford Hospital in Oxford. It plays an important role in mental health care and research, but the facilities are outdated and in need of real support.

I had the privilege of joining Project 90-10 as they marked their second anniversary with a powerful community event aboard The New Orleans in Henley. We came together to discuss one of the most important responsibilities we share: safeguarding children. www.henleyherald.com/2025/05/13/c...

It was the first Oxfordshire County Council Full Council of the term yesterday and it was fantastic to see 7 Lib Dem councillors from across the constituency in the chamber! An energised and committed team, ready to represent our communities and work hard for local people.

Excellent work from Oxfordshire MP @freddievanmierlomp.bsky.social here. 👇

It was a busy week last week - here’s what I’ve been up to in Parliament and across thr constituency 👇

I spoke in Parliament on behalf of one of my constituents who started a business importing organic produce from the EU - they have to pay to re-certify the produce in the the U.K. at their own cost. I asked the Minister if this is the type of red tape introduced by Brexit that should be removed!

Today marked the first meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Fatherhood, and I’m honoured to be chairing it. This group creates a vital space in Parliament to champion the role of fathers in modern society and tackle the challenges they face, from mental health to workplace support.

It was great to meet Olympian and Community fitness, wellbeing leader and gym owner, Tony Garbett today and see his thriving local business focusing on the community’s physical and mental health!

I loved living in Brussels for 7 years, and today also wish my British and other European friends living in Belgium a very happy Europe Day 🇪🇺

80 years ago, Britain celebrated victory in Europe. Today, we remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice to give us our freedom!

This week in Westminster, I asked the minister if he shares my concerns that the lack of funding in Oxfordshire schools is impacting the education of our children

In Parliament this week, I asked the minister what steps she will be taking to improve perinatal health for fathers!

A couple of my favourite photos from Friday’s count. Still completely knackered 😴

Sum: Countering the impact of misinformation not easy... "The communication strategy did not improve vaccine uptake among children of parents with negative vaccine attitudes, although state-specific effects were observed." Study: jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

In a few weeks, Henley will welcome the world’s rowers to the Royal Regatta. But this celebration is being overshadowed by raw sewage being dumped into the Thames. In Parliament, I raised my concerns that this pollution is blighting the event and putting public health & wildlife at risk.

It is a privilege to be have been voted in as a vice chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) last week.

Warneford Hospital delivers vital mental health care but in outdated, cramped Georgian buildings. This week in Parliament, I challenged the government on its exclusion from the New Hospital Programme. Mental health deserves proper investment! Watch my speech below ⬇️

Yesterday in Parliament I called on the government to support the delivery of the Thame to Haddenham Greenway. I urged the Minister to consider issuing guidance to support councils in using Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs) for active travel projects, sadly the Minister declined to comment.

The life sciences sector needs a genuine industrial strategy to support growth and provide the conditions for growth, not just warm words from the government. Manufacturing of advanced therapeutics should go alongside our thriving research and innovation sector www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2510390...

Happy Easter youtube.com/watch?v=62fa...

Extremely disappointed that during the Easter break, ministers have slipped out cuts in support for the most vulnerable children from the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund. I have written to Bridget Phillipson to call for these changes to be reversed immediately 👇🏽

Great meeting with residents of Eye and Dunsden. The villages are battling drainage and flooding issues and totally feel let down by the mess that is flood management in the U.K. They also felt let down by the Tories who neglected this area on the edge of the constituency

Something about hollow vessels www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/nigel-...

Brilliant to attend adaptive time trials for athletes with disabilities at the Phylis Court Rowing Club today. Huge thanks to the organisers and everyone taking part! Lovely to see Henley Mayor Rory Hunt again! (Third time in a week!)

Today I met with the Environment Agency in Henley. I’m delighted to share that £0.5m funding has been secured to progress design work for a repaired Marsh Lock bridge. This is a welcome step towards reopening it, and comes thanks to the hard work of everyone campaigning on this issue

I visited Lucy Electric in Thame who are a local employer, manufacturing key components for our electricity grid & leading in the transition away from the use of greenhouse gasses. The government need to provide a clear direction of travel & certainty to allow companies like Lucy electric to thrive

Many people are understandably concerned about Trump’s trade war and want to know what they can do to help. We’re asking the Government to launch a campaign to encourage people to Buy British and support our high streets, as part of a national effort to back British businesses.

Richest Americans have lower life expectancy than Europeans "The wealthiest Americans had a lower life expectancy than the wealthiest Europeans, and did not exceed that of the poorest in some European countries such as Germany, France, and the Netherlands." english.elpais.com/science-tech...

The richest Americans have survival rates similar to the poorest in northern/western Europe. That’s the striking finding from a new study tracking 74,000 adults (50–85 yrs) in the US & 16 European countries (2010–2022). #MedSky 🧪 www.nejm.org/doi/full/10....
