Every day, I look through the headlines and think, I want someone to clearly explain to me why we’re dismantling our entire government. No pithy remarks, no sarcasm. Seriously, why? Republicans need weather forecasts and collect Social Security and go to national parks, too.

Bukele says that the only way out of his prison is in a coffin so the United States is now giving the death penalty to people we’re “pretty sure are gang members.” No trial, no judge, no lawyer to defend them, just some evidence gathered that they’re “probably” in a gang then .. death.

I helped build a government AI system. DOGE fired me, rolled the AI out to the whole agency, and implied the AI can do my job and the jobs of the others they've fired. It can't. But, what DOGE accidentally revealed about themselves in the process is fascinating. 🧵
