this is a segregationist administration and it is wild to me that there is any resistance to this straightforward observation

I'm going to try and communicate with my Republican colleagues in a new way.

they want to force UVA’s president to resign because he thinks it would be bad if the university reverted to being a lily-white finishing school for the failsons of the old guard southern elite www.nytimes.com/2025/06/26/u...

lol here we go. They not finna give this dude no room to breathe. The papers, the cops, the landlords, they are all gonna work really hard to make him look incompetent so progressives don’t get elected in the future.

It appears that a Trotskyite is a Neocon mugged by reality after all.

The only explanation for the war in Iran, which I do not support, is that the shitlibs have replaced Donald Trump, who I do not support, with a clone, who I also do not support. by Glenn Greenwald

The conservative movement is lying about basically every empirical "debate" of our time, from climate change to voter fraud to vaccines. Why is it so impossible for reactionary centrists to contemplate the possibility they're lying about trans healthcare too?

Jucika and the high note

really sums up the media’s coverage of the Trump presidency

I should be, and generally am used to these things but when the trump White House got huffy at us today for this accurate and chill story from @andrewperez.bsky.social and me, I must confess it did…… annoy me, let’s just say. If you’re gonna lie the country into war, the least you can do is be…

Trump wore his campaign hat in the situation room forever associating MAGA with the bombing of Iran

though the Journal doesn't indicate its sourcing, this is the most direct reporting i've seen that Miller was responsible for defying Judge Boasberg's order to turn around the El Salvador rendition flights (Axios said only that he and Noem orchestrated the flights)

Wouldn't it be nice to have a Congress with any modern history whatsoever at effectively asserting its authority to limit war powers. But that's not a living memory.

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people: 1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money 3) We won’t need a lot of troops 4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq 5) We’ll find WMDs 6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators 7) It will be easy 8) It won’t take long All lies.

Just to be crystal clear: bombing Iran is completely illegal.

Why are no headlines focusing on the unconstitutional and dictatorial nature of this action?

lol

Iran has learned its lesson. by Susan Collins

Opinion | Democrats have a choice. They can either support Trump's war in Iran or they can look like peacenik weaklings to swing voters.

a sitting federal judge — appointed by trump of course — awarded a student for a paper that basically says dred scott was right and should have gone further

at least toby keith is dead this time

Tariffs. Stock market down. Medicaid slashed Secret police throwing anyone who looks Latino in unmarked vans. National guard and marines deployed in LA. No end to the wars in Gaza or Ukraine Bombing Iran This is the worst first six months of any presidential term in my lifetime.

I clicked play because I thought surely no, this is being misrepresented. Naif that I am.

I can’t fucking believe we’re doing this.

Remember when we had that other building in DC along with the White House? It was full of politicians? Con-something? Anyway.

It’s a good thing Congress isn’t alive to see this

it’s even more demoralizing when the history you’re repeating is history you were around for the first time

I’ll say it again: It was a huge mistake for Congress to abolish itself.

This is not about the merits of Iran’s nuclear program. No president has the authority to bomb another country that does not pose an imminent threat to the US without the approval of Congress. This is an unambiguous impeachable offense.

Netanyahu has spent the better part of two decades trying to strong arm the United States into an unprovoked war against Iran and finally found a president stupid enough to do it for him. Unbelievable.

Donald Trump is an extremely stupid man with very few real policy preferences who has simply done what mainstream conservatives have wanted 80-90% of the time since he has entered politics. They have wanted to bomb Iran. He bombed Iran. Pretty straightforward.

at least he didn't do something truly reckless like try to forgive student loans

They have made the world living hell for no reason whatsoever. People will ask why this happened in a decade and there will be tremendous effort to make it more complicated than “they were evil, stupid, and bored”

somebody should draw up articles of impeachment over this immediately. I don’t think it’ll happen because we’re too worried about a rally-round-the-flag effect that won’t happen and it’d be a coalition splitter for that reason. but it should

I am looking for congressional leaders to come out quickly and forcefully against this. We need unequivocal opposition. We need theatric demonstrations of defiance. We need to see leadership. Trump will steamroll us all if we display weakness. Where are our leaders?

We’re in another Middle East war. I’m reflecting on the fact that it’s easy to start a war, difficult to end it. There’s often war optimism, so it’s unlikely to end with bomb strikes today. Lastly, I’m troubled that Trump’s national security team is who we have running this war.

The Peace Candidate.
